SS16 in Subang is known for having plenty of bak kut teh restaurants to choose from. But what do you do when you can’t decide on the best? The name bak kut teh literally means meat bone tea. Bak kut teh is actually a herbal soup boiled with pork meat and bones which originated from Klang.
Chuan Chiew is known for their soup bak kut teh as well as their dry bak kut teh. The soup bak kut teh here is very flavorful and addictive which is best eaten with rice and vege. You can choose the type of meat you like (pork ribs, pork belly, lean meat) and a variety of other stuff like straw mushroom and fuchuk to be cooked in the soup. I would usually choose the lean pork meat. Don’t forget to order the yau char kueh to go with the soup! The dry bak kut teh on the other hand, is a spicy, sticky, meat dish with ladies fingers which is my favorite! I love how it gives out a very fragrant flavor and the spiciness is just right. You have to eat the dried bak kut teh here because I can’t seem to find any other place that makes it as yummy as they do here!
The service here is quite fast despite the crowds at night and the pricing is also moderate depending on what you order.
