Kanteen is a Malay word for canteen and I really do find it very quirky. I passed by the place and instantly got attracted by the funky and bright coloured steel door of the café. The interior of the café is very bright, clean and spacious so we went ahead to chill out at the place. I like the ambiance, great for catching up with friends or a relaxing dinner with your family. Their star dishes are Malaysian and fusion dishes. Since we were just 2 person, we ordered the normal Malaysian«goreng –goreng» which is the«kuey teow goreng» and«meehoon goreng». Priced at about RM8-RM18 for an average meal, the price is considered reasonable considering the ambiance they have. On my dinner though, I’ve had better. I think most patron orders stir fried vegetables, meat and curries mixed with white rice here, maybe I shall try that the next round. We shall see if they are any good.

I attend a dance studio nearby this place and one afternoon my mates and I decided to try out this place. It has got very interesting decoration with shipping container look alike doors. This is their second outlet diagonally across the old one. Guess business is good and they are expanding. The interior is modern and industrial. The staffs are not the friendliest and it’s a self service restaurant where you have to make your order at the counter first. The most happening dish here is the salted egg spaghetti. It does taste really yummy but coming back for the second time? Maybe not as the price isn’t the best of value here.
