The hubby and I actually dropped by on their first weekend after they opened. We had just finished shopping at Craftiviti in 10 Boulevard and we were looking for somewhere nearby to have lunch. I remember all their congratulatory bouquets still outside. When we went, they sadly informed us that they had run out of chicken and beef balls and only had the mushroom balls left, so we were okay with it and ordered that. Hubby is vegetarian after all. He had his with a bed of spaghetti and pesto sauce with nuts for toppings. I had mine with mashed potato and creamy cheese sauce with a roasted garlic topping. One word: Wow. How could anyone make a meat free mushroom ball taste like this. Well done, really. Having a meat free ball this tasty is really rare and far between, The awesome taste and really affordable prices made me really attracted to this place and want to come back. However, do keep track of their FB page as sometimes they can be closed for private events.

I used to enjoy meatballs from IKEA, then one day my friend brought me to this humble restaurant down the road. I thought with IKEA meatballs I have been living in a fairy tale land, turns out this place is heaven! The meatballs here are really epic! It sort of reminds me of the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs cause it is huge! For a reasonable price, I get to enjoy quality wise meatballs. It is really better than other meatballs I have tried so far. Their meatballs also have flavours like marinara sauce that is topped with oozing sinful parmesan cheese! Trust me one dish of that and you are done for the day as it is really filling!

Polpetta is Italian for meatballs which is what the place is known for! When I first heard about eating giant meatballs, I was ecstatic. I mean, who doesn’t like giant meatballs right? So being me, I had built up in my head, pretty high expectations of the food. Upon arriving there, the service was good as the waiters and waitresses were very polite and friendly. My boyfriend ordered the beef balls with mash potatoes and cheese sauce topped with fried garlic while I chose the healthier option and opted for the mushroom balls(no meat) with pasta and the pesto sauce topped with bacon bits. Personally, I didn’t like both the balls as the texture was odd and floury. The beef balls didn’t have that chewy, meaty bite to it and was rather disappointing. The sauce was mediocre and nothing to shout about. In my honest opinion, I’d much rather have ikea meatballs as compared to Polpetta’s.

Polpetta Café seems like the place to go to if you enjoy chunks of meatballs being stuffed into your mouth and enjoying cups of delicious coffee. It is. They have a much larger menu than your usual café, and they do have the price to match that too, with it being lower than your usual fanfare. I like their meatballs as much as I like Ikea’s, although it can be said that the meatballs are near to similar to the ones you can find in your friendly neighborhood furniture shop. Their cup of flat white is good too, as it is less acidic than usual, a telltale sign of good baristas handling the café. All in all a pretty good café to go to if you ever have the chance. I mean, what else can I say?

There are always reason why we go café and there is always one reason why we go café’s, it is because of FOOD! This place has it’s own uniqueness and you know what is that? FAMOUSMEATBALLS! You can have your chicken meatballs with a pasta base, marinara sauce & Parmesan cheese topping(RM13). The meatballs are big about six centimeters in diameter. I personally love the chicken meatballs with mashed potatoes, pesto sauce & beef bacon crispy crunch(RM15). God i love homemade food. They also so provide Beef balls with more mashed potatoes and you get to choose your toppings like cheesy cream sauce & roasted garlic topping(nuts or roasted onions are the other two possible toppings) for RM13. I even tried and like the eggplant ‘toasties’(RM8) with creamy tomato sauce & cheese on top — absolutely addictive. Fried chicken wings, beef goulash & oxtail soup are available too. Really love this chilled out hang out place. Did i say that their coffee is amazing too!
