MBO CITTA MALL

Near for those staying in ara damansara/​saujana area. Parking is easy in citta mall. Queue is short for ticketing and fnb counter.
However, seats in front are always too high up and blocking my view for someone under 160 cm just like me. Popcorn taste horrible here. Sometimes there’s nobody else watching and it can get a little creepy.
Would only come when big movies are fully booked elsewhere or when I’m lazy to go out but still want to catch a movie.

This MBO outlet is really interesting, it is obviously bigger than the one at Subang Parade and it was a very colourful theme. First thing you notice is the Lego wall, this was pretty cool many people have posed for a photo with this wall and I admit that I was one of them. I often wonder how many Legos it took to cover the whole wall. Another memorable display is the life-​size statue of Sully from the Monsters Inc. movie. The entrance to the movie halls is an arch made out of giant playing blocks, the floor was painted as if to mimic the famous yellow brick road from the Wizard of Oz. Really cool.
So I recently watched a movie here and despite all the interesting displays and decorations my experience was less than mediocre. Firstly, the entire floor outside the movie halls was hot as if the air conditioning was not turned on, I pity the workers mending the concession counters. There were not enough people mending the ticketing booth so I had to wait around 10 — 15 minutes to get my ticket even though there was no line and that I’ve pre-​purchased them online. That was rather annoying. It was quite a walk to the movie hall, and when I finally got to the hall it was pitch black. I was a little scared to go into the hall because I couldn’t see a thing. I had to turn on the torch light on my handphone to light my way through the hall to my seat. I got to my seat and it was about 10 minutes into the movie show time and the screen was blank. So I sat in the dark with a few other strangers looking at a blank screen. It was not pleasant experience. The hall was a tad stuffy too. Don’t think I’ll be paying this MBO outlet another visit anytime soon.

Citta mall is usually the place I go to for movies. There is no parking issue there, so no worries about being late for a movie as they have a basement parking as well as an open air parking that is generally half to three quarters full only. Taking the lift straight up, the movie that I would want to watch would generally have seats available and not just for the front rows. Even if I’m there 5 minutes before the movie start, I can generally get at least the second row from the back. However, this doesn’t apply to new blockbuster movies especially on the first weekend it premiers. I guess you could getaway with at least the middle row by the second week of the premier. I’m generally a spontaneous person so I don’t usually book my movies in advance thus I usually just opt for mbo as there’s bound to be seats for most movies.

As Citta Mall is a neighbourhood mall, finding parking isn’t an issue as there are plenty of parking bays available without the hassle of traffic jam. MBO isn’t as big as the other cineplexes such as TGV or GSC so you’ll always be able to secure movie tickets even at the last minute.
However, the downside is that they don’t have an app to purchase tickets online so it’s a little inconvenient to buy tickets over the counter. Another issue I have with all MBO outlets is the place always looks a little run down and could use better maintenance especially since its ticket pricing is similar to other well furnished cinemas. The cinema halls are not carpeted so there is bound to be echos inside the hall. The seats always smell musty and the halls are rather small.
Taking into account the price I’m paying, I would rather spend the money on other cineplexes.

I am blessed to have Citta Mall so nearby to my home because of its MBO Cinemas outlet. Being a movie buff. it is always ideal to have a cinema nearby to your house.
One of the latest MBO outlets, it is also the best one so far. With good seatings and spacious halls, great sound systems and state to the art cinematic experience. This cinema wins hand down compared to other cineplexes in Malaysia.
Being a neighbourhood mall, many of times, the cinema isn’t full. So getting a good seat wouldn’t be a problem unless there’s a famous blockbuster hitting the screen. However, I never had a problem, and at times I got to move around in the cinema.
A little downfall to MBO Citta Mall, is that they do not show majority of the movies, so at times I have to travel further to other cineplexes for movies not shown here. Nonetheless, this is one of the better ones that I have been.
