Bubba Gump

This outlet has become my least favourite Bubba Gump outlet
The outlet’s seating arrangements are impractical that you can be easily missed by the waiters. Also, oddly enough, their souvenir section appears to have better air-​conditioning.
They are known for their shrimp, which is decent enough but I was incredibly disappointed when they failed with something as simple as mash potatoes, which was very dry.
Considering the fact that it is on the pricey side, I won’t waste any more money in this outlet.

I love Bubba Gump ever since I tried the food in Orlando.
So it is a highlight for me every time I go to Kuala Lumpur and it is one of my food destinations here. I am happy to report that the food I had is most similar to those in the States. Quite a feat as most of the times when American chain restaurants open branches overseas (as franchaise or not), it tend to taste different.
My favorite is the Shrimper’s Net Catch which come in a bucket and you just need to get dirty by shelling the shrimps and licking your fingers dry at the end of it.
The catch of the day (tilapia) was equally good and yummy, as was the crispy onion rings.
The shrimping dipping broth was a bit boring after a while as it was just a lot of soup and many shrimps to go with rice and bread. It might be better to share that instead. The Kentucky Bourbon Street skewer was tasty though I am not sure if it is still on the menu now.
The service was friendly and good, but then we usually went on weekday for lunch and it was often quiet then.

IF you are a prawns lover, then you might love Bubba Gump, because they serve all kind of cajun shrimps in different seasoning and flavours. Besides that, you can also find shrimps in almost all of the other dishes like spaghetti etc.
I always order their Shrimper’s Heaven, it serves four different recipes of shrimps, like deep fried Coconut shrimp, Chilly Shrimp, Fried Shrimp, Tempura Shrimp, Fries and Dipping sauces. I loves the the Chilly Shrimp the most as I can taste the original sweetness of the shrimps, while I found others are just so so. Indeed, I barely touch the dipping sauces that serve together with the food.
Bubba Gump is a good place where you can hang out friends, having some finger foods with drinks, and it is a good place to celebrate for friends’ birthday as well.

Not really a HUGE fan of shrimp, I’ve always thought that it requires too much effort for such little flesh. however I was hoping this place would convert me. I visited on a weekend and this place was packed, so we were seated outside at the back.
We ordered the Shrimper’s Heaven that was priced at about RM45, it comes with four different types of shrimps served in paper cones. They were either battered and deep fried or sauteed and the styles consisted of the coconut shrimp, tempura, buttered sauteed shrimp, and chilli shrimp. It is served with some fries and dipping sauces. I was first very surprised with the portions because they looked huge! But… I later on found out that beneath the cones were actually shredded cabbage. too good to be true, so don’t be too excited.
Taste wise, I thought they were OK, I didn’t like the coconut shrimps thought they tasted kind of weird. The rest was tasty enough, I guess it would have been one of those finger licking foods that would have been great with beer and friends. So it wasn’t exactly my kind of «perfect dinner». After a while, the both of us were sick and tired of shrimps!
Service was average despite it being a busy night. I really liked the setting of the place, nostalgic if you are a fan of the endearing Forrest Gump. They have a souvenir shop at the side too that sells T-​shirts and gifts.

I absolutely love Bubba Gump, from the interior to the food. They never failed to amaze me. If you’ve ever watch the movie «Bubba Gump», the design would definitely bring back a lot of memories about the movie.
The service in The Curve was good and attentive. They are very friendly too. It’s a must to order their Shrimp with Cajun Sauce. The shrimps were fresh, and frankly, I won’t mind licking my fingers in the public for these delicious babies! The other all time favourite is the Shrimper’s Heaven. This is perfect to share as you get to try 4 different type of shrimps. However, don’t be fool by the look of the display. There are more shredded cabbages than shrimps inside the cone.
If you think there are only shrimps in Bubba Gump, think again. The Bourbon Street Barramundi is a good non-​shrimp alternative. The fish is flaky, and the grave is very rich and flavourful. If you are a small eater, then it’s advisable to share this as it tend to get too rich and heavy at the end.
My experience in Bubba Gump has always been a pleasant one. It’s a good place to hang out with family and friends. However, the food and drinks here are not cheap, so you might want to go easy on your pocket.

SHRIMP SHRIMP SHRIMP! SEAFOOOD! This place is all about buckets of shrimp!
I was hungry and didnt know what to eat around curve, of all places i wanted to go, i was passing by this place and first thing i saw was shrimp and i always wanted to try this place out.
So i decided to order the shrimp with ribs not sure if it was good as i wasn’t even recommended what is nice. So my meal came and it was quite disappointing as i spend RM50 for this much seriously? Fries, a stick of shrimps and ribs? i was trying to think that maybe the ribs was expensive but it was a small ribs! how is that even RM50?
SO not worth it at all. I googled shrimp and the food i was serve was not even the shrimp size it was a prawn size. lol. Next time i will come and try the bucket of shrimp.

The main reason I would drive all the way from my place (Jalan Klang Lama) to the Curve is for the Bubba Gump Shrimp Scampi and the Cajun Shrimp appetizer. They are my staples whenever I go there because well, they’re unquestionably delicious.
The place is located on the first floor and I usually dine outside as its not that hot and you get to have a ciggie with your food, it’s also a little quieter as it is further away from the hustle and bustle of the waiters inside. I also find dining Al-​fresco there to be less cramped and more comfortable, the perfect environment if you have a little one with a stroller in-​tow. The service is spectacular and the food is magnificent.
Simply one of the best places for a family outing, and one that is particularly fun for the kids as they have ample space to run around and play while their parents chase after them with a spoonful of food.
