A Slice of Heaven is a really nice name for a shop that is a self proclaimed shop that sells perfect slices of cake, and it does pretty well too. While its durian chocolate cake is its main selling point, the other few alternatives are awesome too, starting with your cheesecake and blackforest cake. Both cakes are tasty, and fluffy, a telltale sign that the cakes are freshly baked, and nicely done by all of the bakers there. The price is reasonable, and every bite you take from the slices of cake really gives you a feeling that you are in… You guessed it, heaven itself. PJ is full of cafes, and if there is a standard for how most cafes should serve their cakes, this is it. This is it indeed.

I have visited this place many times just for one thing — durian chocolate cake! I am not a dessert fan but their durian are just so yummehhh. The cakes comes in bite sized portions and it’s just enough for you to indulge on ever so sinful cake but still not get overwhelmed by it. I have no comments on the ambiance and price, well maybe the price can be slightly lower since the portion is so small. But they use a good purée of durian! Yess. The blend of moist chocolate cake and fragrant durian paste is perfect and I love them very much. Travellers, and locals, fancy a nice pang of durian goodness fused into your everyday sinful dessert? Go try out their durian chocolate cake!

There are many eateries in Jaya One, but there’s ONLYONE cake shop here. Despite it being the only cake shop in Jaya One, A Slice of Heaven definitely serve up some delicious cakes. Their cakes a quite small, and they do not come in slices. Instead, it’s a cute round-shaped cake. If love Cheese Cake, and they have pretty decent cheese cake too. It’s cheesy and rich, so I think the size of the cake is just perfect. If you love chocolate, then you have to try the Death by Chocolate. I once bought this chocolate mousse cake for my family, and they loved it a lot. Apart from individual cakes, they offer wedding cakes and cupcakes too. I have yet to try their cupcakes, but I believe they are just as good.

My best friend was having his 21st coming up and I decided to throw him a surprise party. It was all set, everyone rsvp’d, we had plenty of food and the decoration were all put up. The only thing we were missing was the cake. So I asked around and good friend of mine suggested ‘A Slice of Heaven’ At first, I was skeptical. The name of the shop seemed to be overselling itself. I thought«It can’t be that good, can it?» But I was wrong, I had a sample of their Black Forest Cake and a taste of their Apple Crumble Cheese Cake. The cakes are made in wholes, individual and even cup cakes! They also bake loaves with a variety that would just leave you in awe. From what I saw, everything was presented wonderfully. I would’ve brought everything home, if I had the means. I couldn’t decide whether to go for their heavenly White Velvet Cake, Choc and Cheese or their divine Apple Crumble Cheese Cake. After numerous sample tastes, I decided to go or the Apple Crumble Cheese Cake. I mean after what I had tried, I just wanted to stuff my face in it. It was just Heavenly. They packaged it beautifully and the price was more than fair for such a delightful whole cake. I was kicking myself after, on the fact that I took me this long to try this bakery out. I can say with pure veracity, this is by far the best bakery I had been to in Malaysia. It has become my go to destination for cakes.
