The mamak is pretty damn good for its cheese naan and curry. That’s their specialty. It’s pretty quaint place. There are a decent amount of seats for the mamak and the service is pretty good. The waiters are pretty efficient and fast on their feet. I would definitely suggest getting their naan and their specialty lamb dish. It’s not very easy to spot but you easily waze it. There are many high school and college kids around the area that goes to the mamak as well. It’s really convenient that it’s open till late as well.

Ever since they relocated to the new lot, a corner lot with no disturbance whatsoever, Stevens Corner’s business is booming day by day. Stevens Corner is a family owned business that has a luxurious villa nearby that draws a lot of attention. I remember this place used to be the place to hang out after classes in high school. I prefer the new place so much more than the congested and narrow shop lot that was sandwiched in between two other shops. Now you can have a comfortable meal indoors and not worry about the weather ruining your delicious cheese naan. Yes, there are well known for their cheese naan. A few years back, the cheese naan section was operated by one of the sons. He is very good and quick at working on the orders; I have observed the naan making process myself. I was always impressed at how fast his hands would work on rolling out the dough and then placing the dough into a huge clay tandoori oven where the oh so delicious tandoori naan is being cooked as well. I would recommend the Rojak Mee and ABC special as well! What makes the cheese naan so famous you ask? The amount of parmesan cheese that is STUFFED into the naan, yes they literally stuff it in that the cheese melts and boils out from the naan when cooked. Unlike other restaurants that simply grate cheese over naan that is already cooled beating the purpose of watching the cheesy naan stretch like a pizza, Steven Corner’s cheese naan oozes with cheese. Service is moderate, there can be improvements, waiters were attentive although the place was crowded and busy. It is not the best environment if you want to have a good conversation.

If there were such a thing as a five-star mamak, Steven’s would be it. They have a total of three outlets in OUG, Setapak and Pandan Indah. Their call to fame I think would be their Cheese Naan which is filled with gooey Mozzarella cheese, yes, they use the good stuff. A little weird tip, ask for a small serving of condensed milk and dip your cheese naan in this. A water here once told me of this is and I was mind boggled! Naan and condensed milk?! Trust me, it sounds weird but its just an explosion of flavours. Amazing. Their maggi goreng ayam is also definite a must try as its packed with stuff as opposed to just the plain noodles only.

My friend and I were having drinks earlier in the night and we decided we need to get ourselves sober before heading home. He suggested Sri Steven’s Corner because having curry after a few pints of beer would bring us back to reality. At first, I did not believe it. My method of sobering up is down gallons of water and detox. So we took a slow drive from Sunway to Old Klang Road, hoping that we won’t be stop by the police. Thank the heavens that there were no road blocks that night. We finally got to the mamak, I ordered a maggi goreng with mutton curry to see if curry would work. And guess what? It did! As I started to sobered up, so my hunger too. I ordered roti kosong garing. It was alright but the fish curry was thick and aromatic of it spices. Service was good, waiters were attentive although the place was packed with people. It is not the best environment if you want to have a good conversation.

Steven’s is the most packed mamak I’ve been to ever, and I can completely understand why. Anything you order there, tastes good. But what stands out for me the most is their naan’s. It’s so nice and crispy on the side yet really soft in the middle. Another thing to go for would be the maggi goreng. And of course they have iced milo and teh tarik down as it is a mamak stall. As it’s packed, it can be difficult to find a seat and it’s definitely going to be noisy. Also, parking around this area is not too bad unless the night market is happening, then you have my sympathy.
