Being a fashion designer, I could notice how the local industry has evolved more and more towards the Muslimah wear especially amongst tudung-​wearing girls. It is also no surprise that due to that, more and more Muslimah themed stores would pop up. This would also include tudung stores.
Did you know there is a particular headscarf brand that sells its scarves close to one thousand ringgit? It’s true, ridiculous, but true. This particular booth however provides colorful and fashionable headscarves at a fraction of that price. There are some pretty lace ones there too that I found to be quite beautiful. Their most expensive pieces are the ones with Swarovsky crystals on them and even those are considerably cheap by comparison.
I urge my tudung-​wearing hijabistas to not fall prey to these so-​called designer tudungs. Tudungs are tudungs and like so many things in fashion, it’s how you pull it off that makes a difference. That is my PSA for today. Thank you.
