If you’re in Mid Valley this is a decent place for a bowl of beef udon. Not spectacular but good and hearty. Stick with the noodles though and give the tempura a miss. Price is average for a shopping centre fast food place.

This restaurant is perfect for Japanese udon lovers who cannot afford to wait and are opting for quick, fuss-free meals instead. This place is always packed during lunch hours and patrons might need to wait for a bit before they can find an empty table. It’s self-service so customers would need to queue up, place an order, and collect their food from the counter. Each bowl of udon(without add-ons) is priced at around RM13. The taste and quality is honestly nothing to shout about but for the price, speed, and convenience, Hanamaru Udon is a pretty decent place to go to. Located right beside it is Yoshinoya, famous for its Japanese«rice bowls». No need to fight over what to eat as there is something for everyone!

There’s a new express lunch place at Midvalley! Looking at the crowd at peak lunch time tempts me to try it out. On a first glance this place looks like a Japanese udon expressway. Lots of people queueing up for a quick lunch. Orders are self-service, choose your udon & add ons of your preferences. Price range around RM10−15 for a regular udon. Loved their udon they served here, tastes very nice & chewy. Didn’t expect much for a simple lunch but turns out this place have some nice food quality here. I found myself surrounded by Japanese customers & wondered am I still within Malaysia. Looking at all these Japanese customers here reassure the quality they served here. *This restaurant is side by side with Yoshinoya so if you don’t feel like taking Udon there’s always bento available next to it.

Saw alot of people queue-ing up for this udon and wanted to try. It is a self service restaurant that you need to take ur own chop stick, chillies, fork, spoon and etc. The que is very long but I only waited for 5 minutes as the worker is quite efficient. I have ordered a bowl of curry Udon, beef Udon and a spicy Udon with tempura and chicken as side dish. The Udon is not pricey is just cost around RM12 per bowl for Regular but the tempura is so expensive ! 1 tempura cost me RM4.80 which I think is quite expensive. The green tea is refillable and it cost RM1.50 per cup. I personally think that the beef Udon is the nicest and the curry udon is not so nice because the curry soup are actually made from curry powder and the taste is quite terrible. The tempura is cold and too oily.

Hanamaru Udon offers Sanuki udon noodles, which are tasty, casual, reasonable, healthy, and loved by men and women of all ages, in self-service shops that are the mainstream in the place of origin, Sanuki. It is new and for now surely a lot of people will be there queue-ing up for a seats! Personally found this place serving really good food :)
