Dude & the Duchess

I love shopping local brands when traveling abroad so dude & the duchess had been on my radar well in advance of my most recent trip to Kuala Lumpur.
Interesting shapes and textures for men and women abound at this upscale, contemporary clothier. I was particularly taken with the dresses (~$ 100) and separates but I typically have to be bowled over to go try things on in the dressing room and that didn’t happen for me on this visit to dude & the duchess.
That said, I’d definitely return. There are enough unique pieces here that one is bound to find something worthy of trying on and taking home.

Dude & duchess is a clothes store selling women & mens outfits. To be very frank, I somehow feel that the designs & quality for the womens clothes here a tad bit disappointing & mind you they are not cheap. On the other hand, I must say that the mens shirts are superb. Everything from the design to the material & fitting, it all falls together very well. My husband is a huge fan of the shirts here. From what we gathered, they do offer customized tailored shirts. So all you have to do is select your material, design & buttons. The cost to tailor make your shirt is about rm 200 above depending on what you have selected. One thing I love though, the the way they pack the shirts. They have a special folder like paper bag which looks so classy & to think that its just made of recycled paper, aaahh simple pleasures of life!
When they run their store clearance or end of season sale, rush on down to this place as you could get your hands on pretty good deals (only for the men)!

I’ve been a big supporter of local brands. And Dude & the Duchess is one of the labels i’ve been watching closely. Their store in BV was renovated recently if I am not mistaken.
In a local fashion where embelishments are king/​queens, the offerings here are a breathe of fresh air. Moden designs, clean siloutte, graphic prints — all exude a urban sophistcation. Their new premium line is designed by local designer, Jonathan Liang, who is based in Paris.
There are couple of really good pieces on the rack. Prices are around what you’ll pay at Zara. Definitely worth dropping by if you’re looking for something non-​generic.

I absolutely love the designs in this store. Inspirations everywhere. Even, their window displays… their fitting rooms are so quirky! They are designed to look like lockers rooms cum bathroom. It’s definitely one of the most unique fitting room i have ever seen.
As a brand, it has been elevated since they roped in Jonathan Liang as a creative director. His vision and designs have been paramount in getting D & D so popular and likeable.
For men, they have great plain shirts to interesting & well embellished ones for the adventurous. As for the women, their dresses are beyond top notch, they have cocktail dresses that are show stoppers and also everyday blouses for your office wear. There’s definitely something for everyone. As for pricing, they are close to Zara, and high street brands.
This is one of the few rare men fashion brand here in Bangsar Village. I do enjoy shopping here, the SAs doesn’t look over my shoulder and provide the right assistance when i enquire for it. If you can’t make it to this shop, fret not — their online presence is pretty strong with a solid ecommerce website.

A very contemporary fashion desginer brand that is now in bangsar village 2, surely it is a great news for all those who likes to shop.
Here, while girl friends shop guys don’t have to be bored as as their name says, they cater to guys and girls yea.
They do update their collections very frequently so if you are a frequenter at the mall you can still be rest assured that you will have something new to shop.
Prices here are not that cheap but given the quality and nice designs that they are giving, I think it’s quite worth the price.
Do ask from the staff if they have ongoing festive promotions, after all we like to get some good deals right? Also, their staff here are very friendly, so that would be no problem at all.
Parking as usual isn’t easy in bangsar, so just be patient yea :)

A famous homegrown fashion brand that is well known amongst fashion enthusiasts for carrying exclusive, trendy, fashion-​forward pieces. I’ve only ever gone to the store once. Their pricing is a little high for me but they do have some gorgeous stuff I have to admit.
The store is well designed and very pleasing to the eye. The circulation throughout the shop is easy and spacious. The lighting is nice and bright while the clothing is arranged in a neat and accessible manner.
While I was there, I did encounter a really nice waist-​jacket. Now let me try to describe it the best I can. It was crossed at the back and the front part looked like gun holsters, not the actual holsters, the shape was like a holster and the bottom part that goes around the waist fit like a corset. I know that description didn’t help but it was amazing. It would look so good with a nice, crisp white shirt or a long flowy dress for the ladies and cross-​dressing man.
I didn’t get it because of the hefty price tag, but I will snag it once it goes on sale. If you see a sale sign outside Dudes & The Duchess, please drop me a message!
