First it was Dunkin’ Donuts, then came Big Apple, and two years after that, Krispy Kreme followed suit and since then, the game on Donuts was elevated to a ‘hole’ new level(get it?‘hole’?) Big Apple made it first appearance in Mid Valley sometime in 2008 and has been a major player ever since. When it first opened, I remember people were irrationally lining up for at least half a dozen of those sweet, glazed pieces of heaven. I was one of those irrational people. The buns were soft and the toppings were sweet, not ‘hurt-your-teeth’ sweet but you do occasionally have to swig some water after. What I like about the place is that it’s simple and compact. There are a few tables outside where you could sit and enjoy your donuts but I would just recommend taking them home and consuming them in front of your TV in your underwear(they tend to crumble and I don’t like my clothes feeling sticky.) There is a window display of all the varieties of donuts available and it seems the production line at the background doesn’t seem to stop producing them delicious bits of heaven. The Angels hard at work in the background tend to keep you occupied while you’re waiting for your turn in line and its always interesting to actually watch the process of how your food is produced… very interesting indeed.
