I loved this spa! It’s clean and relaxing, with excellent staff. For anybody not familiar with this kind of Japanese spa, let me give you a full rundown. Sorry in advance for the length! When you enter, you’ll first put your shoes in a locker and then go check in at the front counter, where you’ll get a numbered electronic wristband. This wristband can also be used as a payment method for food, beverages, and services. You’ll go upstairs and get your towels and loungewear from another desk before proceeding to the locker room. Find the locker that matches the wristband number, and open it by touching the wristband to the gray button. Then, it’s time to get naked and enter the bath area! For anyone who’s never been naked around strangers, the concept might seem strange, but no one cares what you look like naked and you’ll quickly get used to it! Before entering the baths, you’ll wash yourself thoroughly at a wash station, where they’ve provided shampoo, conditioner, body soap, face soap, wash towels, and even toothbrushes(which already contain toothpaste, just wet and use!). Then, it’s bathtime! You can try all the different baths, like the jet bath or the cold plunge, but my favorites are the open air baths, of which there are three: a lukewarm one, a hot carbonated bath, and an even hotter mineral bath. The water at Spa EAS is sourced from a natural hot spring, which contains minerals very good for your skin and overall health. Some of the baths smell like a tasty tea! It might be tempting(haha), so they have written on some of the signs that you can’t consume the water. There’s also a steam room and a hot sauna, but if you’re into saunas, I definitely recommend moving upstairs to the sauna area. You’ll change into loungewear, and it’s co-ed. There are bedrock saunas, where you will lay on your towel on the ground and benefit from fomentation, but I really recommend the«ロウリュウ» service. I really don’t know how this word«rouryuu» translates into English, but they have a room where a whole crowd will sit, and a staff member will pour water onto the sauna rocks in the center and fan it to increase the temperature to something like 150 °F. You will sweat, and love it! You’ll only stay in there for about 8 minutes, and this popular service is conducted every hour. I would come back to this spa in a heartbeat! They also have comfortable lounge areas where you can watch TV, massage and beauty services at extra cost, and a restaurant and café. When you’re ready to leave, the women’s powder room has hair dryers(even hair curlers!), hairbrushes, lotions etc. to help you look your best. Then you’ll go back downstairs and pay your bill before collecting your shoes and leaving. The cost varies depending if it’s a weekend/holiday or not, and is cheaper if you become a Spa EAS member(which you should, it’s free!), but let’s just say is around $ 25USD. It’s. SO. worth it. I go and spend HOURS there. P. S. Milk after a hot bath is the best. You can get milk from a vending machine in the locker room. Coffee milk and yogurt milk are so good!
