One of the two Vector Beer places in Shinjuku. The two restaurant beer bars are two door down from each other. «Vector Beer»: Bigger place. Larger tables. Specialty is beef tongue «Vector Beer Factory»: Smaller place with many counter seats. Specialty is IPA and meat. 10 years ago, finding a decent IPA in Japan was very difficult. There were some, but enjoying it in draft at a restaurant was near impossible. These days, more and more craft beer specialty bars are popping up. This is the first restaurant that I know of that focused on IPA. BEER: 750 Yen for a pint is a great deal in Tokyo. Many charge over 1000 Yen per pint, so this is a steal. On the day I went, they carried 17 different beers on tap. All domestic Japanese breweries. While a good portion were IPAs, they also carried some non-IPA as well. FOOD: So, so. I feel really bad saying this, because the chef was right in front of my counter seat diligently cooking the dishes. He looked skillful and competent. However, I just wasn’t too crazy with items I tried. Buffalo Wings: Forget it. These are NOT buffalo wings. They should call it sweet and sour chicken. Roasted duck: I don’t recommend this dish. Meat quality was poor. Flavoring was too salty. Table Charge: 300 Yen per person. Cost on my last visit: One beer and some food for 3000 Yen.
