Wow! This was so much fun! It all started with walking out of a dark elevator to a dark corridor. There was a very LARGE red button out front and a locked door. The bravest of us was up front and pressed the button after we failed to open the door ahead. When we were let in, we were greeted with a girl dressed as a cop. We didn’t have any reservations so we had to wait in another dark seating area. Afterwards, we were handcuffed and led to our cell in the«dungeon». We decided to order a bunch of drinks. They had drinks in syrines, drinks served in chem lab equipment, and things of the sort. It was like a little halloween party. We also had delicious nori flavored popcorn. We devoured our 3 bowls. They also have a show at some time of the day. Sadly, we were on a tight schedule so we couldn’t stay for it. Just a tip!

A «concept» restaurant where you play the criminal, are lead in handcuffs and dine in a jail cell. Go for the«experience» run from the food. Fast. As fast as your legs can possibly take you. RUNFOREST, RUN!

It’s ok for a theme restaurant. Come here for the bizarre menu items and some theatrics. And if you’re after a better theme restaurant experience then this probably isn’t the best one that you must absolutely goto. English menus are available!

One of Japan’s many theme restaurants, Lock Up is a mix between a prison(one member of your group is handcuffed to take you to your cell for the evening), and the monster mash With drink names like«I am drowned body», they’ve stuck with the«fusion» theme quite well with both the food and drink menu items. They have an English menu, and the service was quick and friendly. The blackened chicken with okonomiyaki topping was really tasty, but the rest of the food was nothing to rave about. There’s a little lost in translation moment where they’ve listed another dish as okonomiyaki, but it was actually sukiyaki. And not and overly good one at that. Worth a fun visit if you’ve left it late and can’t get into one of the more well known theme restaurants like robot or Alcatraz ER, and it’s much cheaper — we had 2 drinks each plus quite a bit of food for around ¥3500 each(there was 3 of us). Fun Fact — there’s some entertainment throughout the night — I won’t give it away but it was a bit of fun
