This is for the building in Shirogane-Takanawa. I had gel nails that were done at this salon two weeks ago removed today. Their website states: Gel removal(ours&1st time)_ ¥95 /nail(¥103 with tax) ジェルネイルオフ (当店施術&初回) *Free if booked within a month *1カ月以内のリピート予約の場合は無料 Gel removal(other salons)_¥190 /nail(¥206 with tax) ジェルネイルオフ (他サロンにて施術) Well, it was gel removal, it was theirs, it was my first time, and it was booked within a month. And yet somehow I was charged 2750 yen. That includes a 500 yen discount because a friend recommended the place to me. Was that supposed to make me feel better about getting ripped off? When I asked them why the price was so different from what their website says, one girl vaguely explained that it takes much more work to remove the nails when you’re not getting new ones than when you are, so you’re paying for that extra work. Ummmm, well, I hadn’t decided whether to get new ones today or not, and after deciding not to, all she did was buff off some dust and put some olive oil on my cuticles. It took a minute. I read the website very carefully in advance, and there is conveniently no fee listed for gel removal other than the above prices. If that’s their price, that’s their price and it’s fine — the problem is that this is false advertising. If I had known it would’ve been this expensive, I would have just done it myself.
