Das Crêpe war ok. Schlagsahne, Banane und Schokolade(nr.1) waren perfekt, nur das Crêpe an sich war nicht das beste. Aber auf keinen Fall schlecht. Keine Warteschlange! Sehr billig! Nur 380 yen!

Very small crêpe stand offering some of the best Japanese crepes to-go. Fairly cheap and easily customizable, this makes for a great snack while you’re busy traipsing about Shibuya. The Sugar-Butter Crêpe is delicious and exactly what I would expect from a Japanese crêpe store. I asked for Chocolate Sauce added to mine, but most of the sauce ended up leaking out of the bottom of the crêpe into the paper cone. A waste, but next time I’ll just skip it.

I wanted to get some crepes from Harajuku because I hear that’s where the crepes are poppin, buuut we got too tired lol so I just Unilocaled the closest crêpe shop from where we were, and landed here! I was expecting a crispier crêpe, but maybe that’s something I have to request? But anyway, the crêpe was yummy! It was indeed fresh and hot, but kinda wished it was a bit crispier. But no matter, it was still very enjoyable. I got it with some ice cream, bananas, and chocolate sauce, and I think it had whipped cream too. Rolled up in thin warm crepes MMMMMMM nomnnnnom.

Without a doubt this is my favorite crêpe stand in Tokyo. Skip all the crêpe stands in Harajuku(though try Santa Monica crêpe if you want, they are crazy and good in a different way), and come straight here to this stand in Shibuya. They are open 11:00 — 10:00, so plan accordingly. What makes them the best? Every crêpe is made hot to order and they use hot crepes even if you get cold ingredients. I know that doesn’t necessarily sound good but trust me; the places that use chilled crepes are giving you a floppy, softer crêpe that is harder to eat. Having the crispy hot edges of the crêpe against the cool whipped cream or the cold ice cream also makes it a bit easier to eat as the in resigns warm up or melt a bit. The next thing that makes them the best? They use high quality ingredients and they do not skimp! I had a terrible crêpe in Harajuku that put exactly two strawberry pieces inside and filled the rest with whipped cream. Pirate crêpe fills the cone with the ingredients you chose(I got banana and strawberry) and then adds the whipped cream in the cracks, and mine was topped with chocolate sauce. When I walked up, the only girl working there was toasting almonds fresh and they smelled amazing, so if you order a crêpe here, everything is fresh and prepared to order. Finally these are cheap. My crêpe with two fruits, whipped cream and chocolate sauce was ¥440– one fruit with the same toppings is ¥380. The only thing this location does not have is the truly crazy fillings you see at some of the other locations. It’s pretty much ice cream, whipped cream, and custard fillings with almonds, strawberry, banana, and chocolate sauce. If you want to try one of the crazy ones with cheesecake or brownies inside, go for it, but Pirate Crêpe is absolutely the very best crêpe I got in Tokyo through all my visits over six years. Take my caloric investment to heart and try the best!
