Here we go again with the macaroons. Why do all my friends like macaroons? This place had great macaroons but not as good as the ones I remember from my trip to Canada or that shop I’m Hong Kong. I didn’t buy a box this time, but it was tasty for you macaroon and dessert lovers out there. They have European cakes that are very popular here, but not memorable enough to be 5 stars.

i have always been a big fan of pierre herme macaron so when i heard that they have a chocolate bar in omotesando… I did not hesitate to go visit! The chocolate dome was sooooo good… basically you pour hot chocolate on top and it reveals the icecream inside!

Pierre Herme in Tokyo?! Hell yes!!! Stumbled upon this gem and immediately went in to look around. The Pierre Herme here is giant– there’s two floors and the top floor is a chocolate bar! I ended up getting a box of 6 macarons as the boxes there were limited only to Tokyo, and there were unique macaron flavors specific to Japan! I got: Wasabi white chocolate strawberry Jasmine mango grapefruit Cinnamon Pistachio cherry Some type of strawberry and chocolate Praline chocolate crème Jasmine white chocolate Thank goodness I had a Japanese friend to translate everything for me! All of the macarons were an unexpected but eloquent mix of flavors. Wasabi is definitely not offered in the Hong Kong store, but it was so good– you don’t taste the spiciness of wasabi but instead the actual flavor of it. My favorite was jasmine combinations– those were amazing! We also got a pistachio strawberry and the passion fruit macaron ice cream sandwich which was so good!!! The macarons were soft(usually they turn out hard after being in the freezer) and had bits of pistachio in it. It wasn’t too sweet either– it was just right. The service was exemplary– they helped us out a lot and were patient with my extreme excitement lol. So glad I came across this location! I was so happy haha.

good: –cakes with fancy outlook and taste good. hot chocolate drink is too sweet and thick, if you are the fan of chocolate, then this is yours! –one cake is around 900yen or more(around US$ 9), so logically it must taste more than fine. –good atmosphere of restaurant at the up-stair of the store. Bad: –only 2 tables and a bar table are available, seats are not enough. for eating a piece of cake costs US$ 9, it is not worth to eat it as «take away» snack only, of course you want to have a nice seat to enjoy, in this case you should patient to wait for table available, but you won’t know when will the customers finish chatting and leave. –NO photo for everything in store, maybe that’s japanese culture, they cannot and do not need to give you reason, just NO. i was prohibited after taken.

So, the quality of the food is four stars for sure but somehow the service is not good. I personally don’t like a store that doesn’t allow to take pictures. Especially, when they don’t have appropriate reasons. They just told me NO. When I asked the reason, they couldn’t answer why. Why I cannot take pictures of the sweets inside the store without people? after I bought the sweets, I can take pictures as much as I want. It really doesn’t make sense for me. So, sorry for the funs but I gave two stars.

I cannot even begin to describe my love of macarons. These are the best I’ve ever had, and definitely the most unique flavor combinations I’ve ever found. Olive? Whaaat? They’re a bit pricey, but definitely worth it for a treat.
