NABE-ZOSHIBUYAKOUENST 4.5STARS We decided to do shabu for our last dinner in Tokyo. We arrived at Nabe-zo on Thursday, April 14th around 8:15pm with a party of five. The wait ended up being about 20 mins I think. All-You-Can-Eat Japanese Beef & Pork Course(¥4,500 +tax per person for 90 minutes) *Japanese beef, Japanese pork *Fresh vegetables *2 types of soup *Original side items *Dessert We all did the AYCE beef and pork with Shabu-Shabu and Shio-Tonkotsu soup base. The Shabu-Shabu was made with beef tail and vegetable extract. It was suggested we enjoy this with ponzu and sesame sauce. The Shio-Tonkotsu was made with pork bone and roasted garlic. They suggested enjoying this with their special sauce and garlic oil. They also recommended enriching it by adding black pepper. I liked both soups. Not sure which one I enjoyed more as there weren’t super different and it kind of became a cooking free for all. The meat was tasty. We ended up liking the beef more, so we just ordered that after the first round of meat. Super tender and yummy! They have a veggie and side bar where you can get as many plates as you want. This is perfect as I love veggies. I’ve always hated waiting for refills at AYCE places back in the US. It’s super convenient being able to grab your own. They had: Chinese vermicelli, Lettuce, Water greens, Chinese cabbage, Garland chrysanthemums, Spinach, Shiitake mushroom, Kakinoki mushroom, Lettuce & shimeji mushroom salad, Tomato & ginger salad, Tofu«Hokkaido soy bean», «Mentaiko» potato salad, Chinese noodles, Udon noodles, Pork dumplings, Pork meat ball, Chicken meat ball, Pumpkin ball, Squid ball, Soymilk skin and some Korean side dishes such as Napa cabbage and Daikon Kimchee. There were more veggies and sides than I listed, but I can’t recall them all. Make sure to go to the sauce bar so you could make your own sauces. An egg wasn’t included in our soup bases, so we added an egg at ¥50 +tax each. They have an All-You-Can-Drink option you can add to your meal. If one person does AYCD, the whole table has to do it. Since a girlfriend and I wanted to do the Standard AYCD without Draft Beer(¥1,000 +tax each), they let the rest of our party do the Soft Drink AYCD(¥400 +tax each). My gf and I stuck to the cold sake. If you have more than two cold sakes each, it’s worth it as each sake was ¥500. I think we had 8 bottles between the two of us? Service was good. It never took them too long to bring us more meat. But I did notice our potions got smaller and smaller. Maybe we were eating them out of Japanese beef? Also, they were slow to refill the veggies. I can eat a lot of spinach, but it was empty for a while. So were their korean side dishes. What can I say?! I love my veggies. Great place for AYCE and AYCD. I didn’t think 90 mins would be long enough, but surprisingly, it’s actually a fairly long time. If you want to try Shabu Shabu in Japan, Nabe-zo is a fun place to do it!

This place is located next to the Disney store. Just take the elevator up to the location. We asked for a table of two at 6ish on Sunday and the wait was 1 ½ hours. We decide to sit and see what we should do for the next 1 ½ hours. Then 15 mins into our wait the hostess told us they had a table for us. Felt so happy we didn’t leave and miss out on that table. This was all you can eat place and all you can drink. Me and the wife decided to order the beef and pork course. It was 2600 yen per person for 90 mins. You can also choose 3000 yen for 120 mins. Me and wife we picked the 90 mins. You can also choose from a higher quality of meat which we costs a bit more yen. I ordered one beer and my wife ordered a mixed drink. If your going to have more then two beers do the all you can drink. They had a great selection of vegetables and sauces. We got the shabu shabu and sukiyaki soups. The pork and beef for amazing at this place. I wasn’t expecting it to be that good since we didn’t order the Japanese meat. The ponzu and the peanut sauce was really good. The best part was the free ice cream. Our waitress was great since she was very helpful. She didn’t speak much English but is it a all you can eat. They have a English menu so it pretty easy to order.

The best part is the vegetable buffet in which you can take as much cabbage, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, etc. as you want. You also get several broth options(salt tonkotsu, miso, collagen, kim chee, etc) and you’re allowed to pick 2. The basic all-you-can-eat plan(they don’t have any pay as you go options) is less than 3,000 yen, and it includes both pork and beef. After the initial serving of 3 trays each, you’re allowed to order as you’d like. I do recommend making a reservation because this place does get crowded. They have English menus but I’m not sure about the English ability of the staff. For a good deal on decent shabu shabu, you can’t really go wrong here.
