This shrine is placed in front of Hankyu third avenue(called Hankyu Sanban-gai). It is dedicated to a deity, «Sugawara Michizane» known as a scholar and politician of the Heian era. He is called«Tenjin-sama» and is popular among students praying for success in entrance examinations as Michizane had a profound knowledge. I also prayed for my niece passing the high school entrance exam. In addition, I smoothed down eyes and a head of a cow image nearby. It is described that if you have a bad part in your body, please smooth down the part. It treats your bad parts. So I have suffered from migraine for a long time and my eyes recently get fatigue because of long-time PC-screen viewing. After my prayer, head ache didn’t occur during trip on last holidays and I can see well. I got a profit from the deity. It is said that if people pray for someone’s sake, the wish will come true. I look forward to my niece’s passing the entrance exam.
