Not sure if I was just missing vegetables or not but that was some of the best Mexican I’ve had in a long time!

Excellent Mexican experience from a couple of Americans missing the home experience. We got the shrimp and chicken fajitas and it was a ton of food. Should have split one entrée. We also had a pitcher of regular margaritas. They were well mixed and fairly proportionate with the alcohol. Live music was cool. Attentive wait staff. Lighting was a bit dark. Booze was pricey. So pregame before of you’re trying to get toasty. Would recommend to any traveler of the area.

Every time I go to Osaka my first stop is always El Pancho! True, it doesn’t quite compare to «American Mexican» fare, but it comes pretty close! My husband and I always split several dishes and always love everything. The mixed tacos were our favorites so far. The kingu size lime margarita is a must order! Best margarita I’ve had in my seven years in Japan. If you go on a weekend night it is best to make a reservation just in case.

Great food and service. Nice break from the busy street. I would come back again to try different dishes.

It’s location is really convenient and the place has a nice ambience to it. Unfortunately though, I ordered a sandwich instead of a real Mexican dish BUT it was a good sandwich. The service was fast and we had a great time here. It’s cozy and relaxing with good food.

5 stars for the décor. It’s such a fun little hideaway. Happy hour food is pretty good. Margaritas could use some work but overall a fun place to try, and reasonably priced.

For my money I would go with ELPANCHO’S over any other Mexican Food spot in the area if I want to take a date, family member, friend or business associate to sit down and enjoy a fine Mexican Food meal. Understand that you may need to make a reservation as they do get busy… especially on weekend nights. However overall I would say that the time is well worth it. Top three(3) spot and number one if you are going for that certain authentic ambience with your meal.

Stopped in with some friends of mine who, like me, were missing the taste of mexican food. We were not disappointed. As said, skip the margaritas. They are weak both in alcohol and fruit flavor. But, everything else was excellent. I recommend American nachos and anything from the combo menu. Portions are huge, so be ready. The staff were genuinely nice and multi-lingual. I would make a reservation if you’re going with more than 1 other person.

Food has good taste. Portions are large. Huevos rancheros was very unique– I loved it! Margarita I would pass on next time and order a beer. Salsa had a bit too much chipotle spice(needs more tomato) but still decent. Would go back again.

When I lived in Osaka this restaurant was a well visited favourite. I do love Japanese food but sometimes you wanted a change. The nice thing about this restaurant was it didn’t feel like it was Japanified Mexican food. It was always good value and authentic Mexican food. Well worth a visit or three.

«Mexican» places overseas are always suspect, but I can get behind this place. El Pancho’s location is prime, as it’s located right next to the Shinsaibashi station, so you can stay right up til the last train ^^. Take note that you might have to wait a bit if they’re full. The décor inside is really unique because it transports you to a Mexican place in America. The dark brick interior is dimly lit with festive lights and adorned with Mexican/desert-themed decorations. The décor works because it’s very very cohesive. You start off with a small complimentary ramekin of chips and salsa. My two friends and I shared an order of guac and chips(awesome!) and beef fajitas. The fajita veggies were peppery and spicy, and the beef was super tender. My only beef(haha) about the beef was that it seemed a little underseasoned. That being said… the frozen margaritas are bomb. Many places serve weak drinks, but this is not one of them. The frozen margarita tastes the way it should, and they have a looong list of flavors. I went with a king size of the regular, but when I go back next time, I def. want to try the yuzu…:O Size-wise, a king if perfect. The regular size is roughly 700yen and the king is around 1000. Just go for a king. Do it. Do it. If frozen margaritas aren’t your thing, they also have a pretty good selection of tequila and Mexican beer. I’m already super excited to come back and try other things on the menu.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in the city! When you get there, you can get nachos for free. Their burritos(chicken, beef) are soooo good. One of my favs dish so far. The atmosphere is nice, cute, a bit small though. Always clouded on weekends, so better make a reservation before you go. And they are doing some live show sometimes at night. Me encanta El Pancho!

El Pancho is where it’s at! As a Californian accustomed to Mexican food, I will totally vouch for El Pancho as my go-to Mexican food place(when I am in Osaka, that is…). Their burritos are of excellent size, and the variety of food combined with the atmosphere/interior of the restaurant make it feel like home for me. I would recommend the beef burrito. It comes«wet» style, is lightly crisped, and includes guacamole. Given, it is a bit over ¥1000, it is so worth it and quenches the burrito thirst that I so often get in Japan. Happy Hour is a nice time to be there as well. Coronas and Margaritas are discounted, and one can usually find a seat. I mentioned that last part b/c there have been two occasions that I have been turned away from El Pancho at the door b/c they had no space or there were too many reservations that evening. A note to how popular they are I suppose. The first time I was pretty bummed, but the second time, my friends and I ordered to-go and ate in the station(cuz nothin’ can stop us when burritos are involved!). So, I would recommend coming in at non-busy hours or making a reservation ;)
