Food area was nice On the way to Tennouji park, I stopped by here to buy foods. I think this was my first visit to this place. The area is connected to major stations, from tourist to locals visit here. Good thing is they have signage written in foreign language, so wherever you want to go, you’ll be able to get there. This time I visited 2 places, wine area and cheese shop. It was obvious that they focus on wine, you can tell from number of bottles they sell, compared to sake. They also had promotional wines and tasting area. Knowledgeable staff kindly told us what to choose and what they were promoting were actually quite nice. Cheese shop also had many kinds of cheese. When we didn’t know what to buy, the staff suggested us assorted cheese. It was a bit pricy but after we brought this at the park, we found their choice was great. Overall, staff there were kind and they knew what’s good, so please give it a try if you feel like something but don’t know what to buy.

Gotta give it to the Japanese… Real estate being a precious commodity in their country, nothing is wasted. That goes for underground space also. Being how important train stations are to everyday Japanese living, why not put everyday essentials in or close to these stations so one can take care of things before going to work or home. Here at Kintetsu, you can do that. This mall has everything. Need items for preparing a meal? They have it here. Forgot your umbrella or tie? No worries, you can get one here. Need a quick lunch, bento box or dinner? You can get it here. The food section is awesome! For those of us from Hawaii, just imagine Shirokiya food court, except ten times bigger! Yep, you have a huge selection of foods and even packaged, preserved items too. It’s a very modern, clean and lively place. When it gets close to closing time, the place gets even livelier. Vendors will not only lower their prices, but they will also shout out for you to purchase their stuff! It gets kinda loud and crazy, but hey, it works! See something you want? Don’t procrastinate, when you circle back around, it’ll most likely be gone! What a great way for people to pick up dinner on the way home from work. The Japanese people are very efficient and time wasted is a no-no, these shopping places on the way home make life much more efficient!

The Abeno Harukas tower is definitely a must see for any Osaka visitor. It’s the tallest building in Japan and offers great views on a clear day of Osaka City. When we were there they were doing a promotion to get certain stamps throughout the building and then you could try like a slot machine to win a night in the hotel there. Sadly, I didnt win but it was fun. The flagship of Kintetsu is also worth exploring too with delicious gourmet restaurants and almost evrything under the sun! Look out for the Yayoi Kusama mural as well. So lovely and definitely a great way to see Osaka!

Wow! What a huge shopping area! There are floors after floors of shops, the floor map guide is 20 pages or so long!(a little confusing) You can buy tickets to go up to the observatory. The day we want the lines for that were very long(they said 45 min wait) so we went to one of the upper floors to try to get some lunch. Even at 2pm on a weekday it was packed with people. Every restaurant had many people waiting outside… You couldn’t even get in the elevator to go back down because there were so many people. We ended up taking the stairs to another floor to get away. Lots of shops though — we found a bunch of little things to buy as gifts for friends. They also had abeno harukas goods(stuffed animals, chocolates, cloth shopping bags, etc) FYI you can still see a great view of the area from the stairwells of the restaurant floors. The observatory is probably much better, but if you’re pressed for time… It works in a pinch(^_^)
