Hyped up ice cream due to its 8 layered concoction. I wouldn’t be able to finish one, so I settled for a three tier; strawberry, melon, and green tea. Flavors were really artificial tasting, and were decent but not the best in Tokyo. I tried my friends coffee milk and that was actually my favorite. I would say go for the reasonably priced fish, veggie, and fruit market behind the ice cream, and get the ice cream as an after thought.

This place is located at the basement floor of the infamous Nakano Broadway(Tokyo’s Otaku spot besides the famous Akihabara district). I learned about this place after researching on fun eats in Tokyo, and thought what the heck my sister & I should try this 8 layered ice cream for fun(since my sister reeeeeeallly loves ice cream very much). To be honest, the 8 layered ice cream was aesthetically beautiful for pictures, but it was not that tasty. In addition, it was too much for 2 people to consume so we just took a bite of each flavor and threw the rest in the garbage. It is worth a visit, but not a second. Thankfully, Nakano Broadway was fun to visit & the ice cream did not cost a lot.

This place isn’t hard to find, but you’d never stumble across it unless you knew to look. It’s in the basement of a strange little shopping arcade, behind all the fish mongers. They’ve got eight flavors of soft serve on tap, and you can get one cone with all eight. I’m sorry to say that I didn’t try that, because one of the flavors was grape, and I was not feeling adventurous enough. For only a couple hundred yen, though, I got a nice tasty cone on a hot day. I’ll get the big cone next time.

Well let me tell you first about the location of this joint. Downstairs in the darker divier side of a shopping district which reminds me of a cleaner version of Santee Alley in Downtown L.A. This though is located right past the butchers and fish market so you’re walking though some stench looking for ice cream. A bit odd if you ask me. You will finally arrive to a dark corner and think to yourself ‘This is it?!!’ Yes, that was it. Just a little stand that sells eight layered ice cream cones for around $ 4. Insanely inexpensive and it was quite tasty as well. Not a destination spot since there isn’t much to do out here so plan your day accordingly.

How I missed writing a review for this place. I don’t even know. But, I’m kind of mad at myself for it as I was really pumped to come and get some ice cream here! HUGE swirls on top of swirls with so many different flavors. That’s the one I wanted! 8 layers guys. All less than 5 bucks! It’s located in the basement with a ton of other little shops here and there. It’s very small, it’s basically just a stand. People eat their ice cream just around the area. Btw, if you drop your ice cream, or it slides off/falls of. you are responsible! Haha. The flavors from top to bottom were vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, coffee, melon, grape, green tea, and ramune! You were definitely able to identify all of the flavors very easily. Did I like all of them? Not necessarily, but I would order it again! Bf and I shared of course. :D

This place has awesome fro-yo! I went with Stephen D. and ordered a regular sized green tea froyo on a cone and it was delicious! The prices are extremely cheap too. Must try!
