Delicious, fresh, reasonably-priced sushi, plus the added fun of it being sushi-go-round /conveyor belt sushi. It’s in a convenient location right outside the Shinkansen exit of Kyoto station. There’s only 2 different price levels for the sushi, plus options of sushi with or without wasabi, so it makes it pretty easy and fun to choose what dishes you want to try. The sushi chefs are continually making and replacing the sushi for a full counter of people. I ate what I thought amounted to a sushi buffet, and it cost only around $ 20! I came back for round 2 and had another repeat delicious sushi meal.

This place is great! While in Kyoto my boyfriend and I ate at the Kyoto station location and the gion location about 3 times total! Delicious simple sushi for a great price of ¥150 per plate. We only had to wait once and only for about 5 minutes. The staff are super nice and although we didn’t order off the menu it seemed easy enough to do so. Super fun conveyor belt sushi with high quality food.

Awesome price and great sushi. Convenient location near the Kyoto station. I tried raw horse meat and it tasted like cured Italian meat(red). The yellow meat sushi tasted like raw squid, chewy and hard to swallow. I wouldn’t eat it again. Otherwise, very efficient process, loved it

If you’ve never had sushi off a conveyor belt, you’ve got to try this at least once. I’ve heard other similar places are questionable for freshness by this place seemed to have new prices constantly coming out — so if anything try to go during busier times for the better turnaround. To quickly justify my ratings: — Price(5 stars) = very reasonably priced; normal single/double pieces were only about $ 1 and the premium maybe around $ 2.50 each — Experience(4 stars) = really fun but feel like there may be better optimal seats to make sure the have the specific pieces you’re looking for before all the good ones are taken; love that you’re eating within seconds after sitting down because you just start taking plates off the conveyer belt; there are labels for all the pieces so you don’t have to guess — Quality(3 stars) = overall not bad for essentially fast food sushi; some pieces were questionable(e.g. salmon) and others I wouldn’t recommend for Westerners(e.g. pickled mackerel, horse and mane meat) but the premium medium fatty tuna was delicious; plus they had such a selection of raw and cooked sushi to appeals to all Other random tidbits — The spouts are hot water and you can make your own tea with the little packets. Can also ask for ice water on the side — Stack your dishes to make room for others and to make it easier them to count at the end — Let them know when you’re done to get your ticket; then go up front to pay; they accept credit card

Pretty good kaitenzushi place in the kyoto station. They have English menus here and I noticed alot of gaijin eating here as well. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

So amazing! This experience was a combination of serendipity and delicious sushi. We had just gotten off the train coming to Kyoto station from the Fushimi-Inari shrine, and I had a craving for conveyor belt sushi. I went on Unilocal, and found this place– a one minute walk from where we were! There was a short wait, enough time to be excited about how lucky we were, and then we were sitting in front of dishes and dishes rotating in front of us. We aren’t too adventurous in terms of sushi, and we stick to the ¥146 dishes, ranging from blue fin tuna, salmon and roe, scallops, daikon roll, and roast beef(??). We didn’t try the blowfish, or raw horse, or crab innards… But what we got was waaay oishii!!! 14 dishes and two beers later we rolled out of there with the bill at ¥3200– quite a decent price, for a spur of the moment sushi craving. The high school kids next to us had stacks of plates higher than ours– each! Me and my food baby walked out of there very happy.

There was a slight line at 6:30pm on a random Thursday, but it moved quickly enough. There was a pretty good selection of sushi, including fatty bluefin. Most dishes are 146yen a piece, with the special dishes at 346yen. The sushi is pretty good, but don’t expect any sort of life affirming experience here. Most of the dishes come prepped with wasabi, but the chefs will give you a big pinch on your plate if you ask for more. There are also free tea bags at each seat, with a hot water dispenser.

My friend and I found this place on Unilocal when we were looking for some sushi after a long day at Hiroshima and Miyajima from Kyoto station. Exhausted by the day of travel, we just wanted something quick. I had been hesitant to try conveyer belt sushi, but could not anticipate how wonderful the experience was in Japan! There are three different plates to choose from: regular, with wasabi and specials. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Our favorites were the amberjack, tuna belly, flounder and raw shrimp. Between the two of us, we racked up about 25 plates to the astonishment of our neighbor at the bar and our waiter who tallied up the bill. The grand total came to around $ 40USD — an absolute steal! I was giddy and sushi drunk the whole way home. :) We liked this place so much that we returned again with two other friends later in the week! Big red shrimp is also delicious!!!

Kinda hard to find and very crowded. Basically it is located at the B1 level of Kyoto station where you can find some sit-down restaurants. Had great fatty tuna and salmon sushi. Expect a long line during lunch. Please be aware that the rainbow color of a plate indicates the price and also no wasabi sushi.

Asking the concierge at our hotel for a «Oishii Tabemono» recommendation for takeout, she didn’t hesitate to fire back with a «Do you like sushi?» Her recommendation led me to Sushi No Musashi, a casual rotating sushi bar that is, no doubt, the best in it’s class. How do I know??? …For starters, the place is ALWAYS busy, even in the rain. The fish is FRESH and the prices will make some of you angry. Two piece nigiri of salmon eggs…150 yen Two piece nigiri of yellowtail…150 yen Two piece nigiri of fatty tuna…350 yen At 120 yen to the USD, you can see just how reasonable this sushi is. For about $ 25 total, we made out like Japanese royalty! I ordered so much fish that I forgot to try some of the novel options(i.e., horse meat, horse main and roasted duck nigiri). There is always next time!

Very typical conve belt sushi restaurant. It offers a huge variety of sushi. If you miss one from the display just ask one and they will make for you. Ocha is free. Beer is available. Some sushi restaurant will have a self disposal sushi plate under the desk(which I think is convinient as we have more space, you know, for your elbow and phone to rest nicely next to you). BUT this one doesn’t so just stack your plate wherever you see free spot on your desk. They will count the bill based on your empty plates so it doesnt matter if you dont speak Japanese. During lunchtimes esp on weekends, the line is sooo crazy. But it’s a good one so some people will just wait outside until the seat is ready. So dont be shy, give it a try.

3.5 Stars. Typical conveyor belt Sushi joint. Really really busy with Kyoto natives… not too many GaiJin… must be pretty good by that standard. You can see them make it and no it aint Jiro rocking the nigiri with his magical hands… and yes it is rather sloppy but they serve some interesting fish and seafood rolls. Loved the clam salad roll, the special tuna nigiri, the cuttle fish herring roe role, Octopus with wasabi roll, and especially the blackthroat seaperch… it was all good and pretty fresh. Two people 13 plates of sushi 1920 yen… I call that a bargain the best I ever had(name that tune)

Had a good time. Sushi was average quality but a lot to choose from. Staff was nice. It’s a place with a belt but you can order directly from the chef too. That’s not quite necessary because it’s fresh either way. You can also buy to go boxes if you want to pick up sushi for your train ride. A real must go if you want to eat something nice cheap and fast.
