It’s a fun Irish Pub in a great location. Staff were enthusiastic and helpful. Beer list seemed a bit limited tap-wise. Mostly things like Kilkenny, Guinness, Sapporo, Hoegaarden and then some Belgian bottles. Markup was quite high. Cheapest drink was 850 Yen for Sapporo, which is about double from most places I’ve been to. Next cheapest was 1000 Yen for Guinness and such. So limited and pricey selection. There are TVs inside for watching international sports as well as a pool table. Fun and lively atmosphere, but smoking is allowed inside, which really made me nauseated.

Chill, awesome staff! Mysteriously diverse drink menu. (More Belgian beers than British, but I am DEFINITELY not complaining)

If you want to enjoy football matches with friends, Pig& Whistle is the first choice around Sanjo station area. This traditional British style pub has been standing here since 1986. They provide you with more than 10 different kinds beers on tap and 30 different kinds of bottled beers. When I visited there they also had a special«Belgian beer» selection. As a British pub, of course all the bartenders speak English fluently and are very helpful. You can choose between anything from Japanese beers to British Ales. I, personally, am not interested in football so I don’t care whether they have TV or not. But if you are a football lover or love to play darts, you shouldn’t miss Pig & Whistle in Kyoto!
