A cheap but yummy Kushi-Katsu specialty restaurant in the residential area near Oji Station. NY Football Jet fans are sadistic. That is not a statement of opinion — it is a fact. Who else would continue to support a team that has not found a quarterback since Broadway Joe? How about a Jet fan who lived all their life in Japan? Could have chosen any team in the NFL, but chose the Jets. Wow. You must be really curious why a Tokyo resident would become a Jet fan. Well, you can find out by visiting Ippai-Ippai in Oji. The owner is a devoted Jet fan. He would love to talk to you about the butt fumble. FOOD: I loved his Kushi-Katsu, which is deep fried skewered meat and vegetables. It was so delicious, it reminded me of being in Osaka. Yes, the root of Kushi-Katsu is Osaka. What really brought my review from 4 to 5 stars is the owner’s skillful Yoshoku dishes. That is right, he served quality Yoshoku even for dinner. I had their Omurice, which was wonderfully delicious. COST: So, we ate and drank quite a bit, and the total bill was 2500 Yen per person. That is a steal! MYMEMORYHERE: I know this does not pertain to anyone, but for me, I will likely remember this place as the restaurant where Unilocaler Yuta taught me how to drink Shochu-Hoppy mix. Hoppy is a non-alcoholic beverage that tastes a bit like beer. You mix this drink inside Shochu(Japanese vodka). It made a really fun night. RESERVATION: Not required, but I would call ahead, since the restaurant is not so big. If a large crowd all the sudden shows up, the place would become full quickly. Furthermore, on the day I went, the owner was the only employee there. If it become crowded, he must get really busy. I wonder if the service would suffer on the busy nights. He sure won’t have time to talk about those Jets with you. ACCESS: The place is about 10 minute walk from Oji Station. You need to walk through some residential neighborhood.
