The burger & hot dogs were wonderful! I was also intrigued by the music selection & enjoyed very much! I certainly was not expecting to hear Andy Gibb, Steely Dan, Celine Dion, LeeAnn Rimes, The Clash, Burt Bacharach in one sitting — accompanied by Star Trek — The New Generation playing on the screen.

My partner and I went for a long walk and then took me to Hungry Heaven. This was a perfect timing because we were very hungry and I’m a big time burger lover. This place looked cool and different than most Japanese traditional restaurants. I like how it looked inside too, very funky. Many square baskets were on the floor for our bags or jackets to store. That’s clever. We ordered standard hamburgers, french fries, and Sapporo draft beer. When our food arrived, the waiter handed us wax-like paper pockets. There was an instruction how to put our burgers in the paper pockets. These paper pockets helped us eating less messy and holding our burgers better. Again, that was clever! The hamburger tasted great. Beware, some of burger lovers may not like chopped onion in their hamburger. Dark buns were good and soft. I wish I had more french fries. There is no English menu available even the back of menu said so. However there are some basic English in the menu so we can figure out ourselves. One more, the young servers were polite and always cheerful. I don’t mind coming back again. Next time, I’ll order double french fries.

Place rating: 5 Tokyo, Japan
I’m a huuuuge burger fan here in Tokyo as most shops put so much effort into making some amazing burgers and Hungry Heaven is top notch. Being in Japan I have very little exposure to the simplest of things… like Chili. This shop makes their own home made chili on a daily basis and it rocks. My absolute favorite here? Chili burger with Avocado topping… the bread is nicely chewy and the meat patty… oh my crazy juicy… the staff takes ground beef and makes round patties right in front of ya at the counter! The waitress always greets me with a friendly smile and its just a great place to be. Sooooo… If you don’t mind the trek to Itabashi(near Ikebukuro) do it! There is another branch in Meguro that’s also amazing. For some more details:
