A fellow beer-and-pizza lover we met in Tokyo suggested that we find Devil Craft during our stay in Tokyo. Luckily, it was a mere two blocks from our hotel so it wasn’t even an inconvenient adventure. They have about 15 beers on tap and have a great variety of Japanese and American choices. All of them are reasonably priced and obviously care is taken in curating the list. The atmosphere is cozy, and while the first floor is small and only accommodates about 10 or 12 people, they have other floors as well if you have a bigger party. Their pizza is really, really delicious. They have both Chicago deep-dish and a thinner crust pizza, but we only tried the deep dish. I wouldn’t say that it reminds me of exactly Chicago pizza, but it’s definitely close and it was just what we needed to continue on our adventure of tasting unusual Japanese cuisine. We ordered the Devil Works pizza, which comes with pretty much all of the toppings you could imagine – pepperoni, sausage, peppers, mushrooms, and all that. Basically a supreme pizza in the US. The crust is crispy and chewy, the toppings are well-distributed and fresh, and the sauce was super flavorful. This place is an excellent stop if you’re in Tokyo looking for craft beer. If you’re also from the US and looking to take a short break from Japanese food, it’s an even better stop.

Pizza was as promised, deep dish and delicious. We ended up sitting outside as the restaurant was full on a Sunday night. How does that work for ambiance? Good, impromptu but the service didn’t suffer. They definitely earned a full star for having Epic Brainless on Peaches. Finding Epic in Tokyo was unexpected. Waffle fries were good… but the ten beers on tap and pizza were the hit.

I have been to this place a couple of times and every time I have had good food and beer. They have great selection of craft beers from America. When I visited last night, there were two beers from Schooner Exact Brewing in Seattle and that made me happy. They make really good beer. They also serve really good food. They have Chicago style pizzas. It takes time to make them but they are just delicious! I usually order waffle fries too. Believe or not, it’s harder to find them iin Japan. They make really good deserts too. Service is okay. Last night, the waitress we had asked us to pay before the pizza even came. We thought it was strange but we were sitting outside table so thought that she was worried about us running away or something. Turned out it was a mistake and she was just confused with somebody else and asked us to pay first. She eventually brought back the money and apologized but it was a weird experience. It’s a tiny place but very easy to access from Kanda staion. Highly recommend it for the beer/pizza lovers out there!

Chicago style deep dish pizza in Tokyo? Heck yeah! I love pizza, all kinds: NY thin crust, Chicago style, even the minimalist Margherita. Coming in for the first time, I honestly had low expectations. Do NOT judge a book by the cover! This pizza is legit; it could hold its own even against Lou Malnati’s on the North Side. Even better they served craft beer as well. If you’re in the area, give it a try, you might even be surprised!

Serious Fucking Pizza! The craft beer is a plus, but the pizza, the PIZZA!!! We got the Meatzza and the sauce was like Jesus took off his saddle and gave my tongue a gentle kiss. Might have been a bit overboard on the oregano, but amazing pizza. AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING!!!

Pizza here is great! Definitely best Chicago style deep dish pizza in Tokyo. Their craft beers are very good as well. I only wish there was more space.

The pizza here is very good! The best Chicago-style pizza in Tokyo. Their selection of craft beer is great too! They’re a bit on the pricey side but it’s well worth it if you want damn good pizza.
