If this is your first time on Tokyo Station’s ‘Ramen Street’; you’re probably both overwhelmed and torn as to where to stop off. Fear not, friend, just go with the shortest line because all of them are brilliant to include Oreshiki Jun. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? The process should be familiar if you’ve spent any amount of time within the Tokyo ramen scene, but if you haven’t you walk up to the machine, place your order, have a seat, and shortly you’ll have some truly sensational ramen in front of you. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? At just about any contemporary ramen spot in Tokyo you’ll pay just shy of 1000JPY for some standard Tonkotsu, which is exactly what you’ll pay here at Oreshiki Jun. While the serving at Oreshiki was a bit smaller than what I waited two hours for at Ichiran, it was more than enough nonetheless. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Having stopped off at Ichiran Shinjuku upon landing in Tokyo, I honestly didn’t think it could be topped, but Oreshiki Jun matched it right out of the gate. The broth was sensational, the pork cutlets flavorful and crispy, and the level of spice was perfect. The noodles? Perfectly cooked and flavorful — what more do you want? Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Oreshiki Jun? Ichiran? One of the many other spots on Ramen Street? You can’t go wrong, but one doesn’t stand above the rest either. No Star Granted.

Excellent Tokotsu ramen. Love it! Broth is thick and flavorful. Noodles are a little on the thin side, but it is cooked slightly al dente so there is a nice texture. Recomended!

A great Tonkotsu Ramen in the great Tokyo Station. This is literally my second favorite ramen spot in all of Tokyo and I’ve been to a quite a few of them. Ichiran is near and dear to my heart, especially at 2am, but when passing though Tokyo station near lunch time this is my go to spot. It’s just downstairs just outside the Tokyo Ramen Museum hall and if you play your cards right the line shouldn’t be too bad. If you don’t know already, you will get use to waiting in line for lunch in Tokyo on any day of the week. So, get there before 11:30, or just wait until 1pm. It’s a small place with quick turn over. Typical ordering machine outside near the line and welcoming fast pace staff inside. You’ll get your order quickly, eat quickly and get out quickly. If you sit around too long, you’ll start to feel like you’ve been siting around too long. It’s worth it though for a great Tonkotsu ramen.

I insist I don’t have a favorite among the shops on ramen street, but then this is the only one I’ve given 5 stars. Boy, do I love tonkotsu style ramen and this shop has a very rich and very powerful broth. I highly recommend getting the deluxe version with the cod roe as the extra hit of saltiness from the sea goes beautifully with beautifully, fatty and oh-so-tasty pork

Super heavy taste tonkotsu based ramen. If you are strong taste Tonkotsu ramen lover, you should try here! Kaedama(add noodle) is 300, it comes with huge amout of blue onions. Inside the restaurant is small and always crowded so during lunch rush hour may have to wait couple minute.

I thought the ramen was very good. I went with the deluxe tonkotsu ramen which I found very flavorful and also extremely think, almost creamy. You order from a machine, sit down, hand your ticket to the waitress, and that’s pretty much it. There’s some different seasonings available and I ended up throwing a little garlic and hot pepper in mine. I’d have no reservations about going back, it was a good large bowl of ramen that kept me full for some hours.
