We visited this place as it was highly recommended by our hotel. It was packed over lunch and the prices were cheap so we decided to give it a go.
The place itself is not impressive. very basic restaurant therefore no real ambience but it does feel more authentic.
The staff are relatively friendly but their English is very very limited. Also, even though we pointed to what we wanted from the menu to minimize language barriers one iof the dishes we ordered was the wrong one. They got the order wrong for the table next to us as well…
Food: the bread provided initially was stale. we had polenta wih ham and parmesana which wasn’t great. we ordered a gnocchi with a, mix of cheeses and a risotto with meat. the food was tasty and seemed home made and fresh.

Ristorante Scaligero can accomodate a large number of people (I was a part of a group) but the food was very, very bad. It did not seem fresh and the food was not flavorful. We also were served french fries which was very annoying. The restaurant is a huge space but it was empty when we ate there (signs of it not being such a great place to eat). The owner/​manager was friendly but the food quality was not good. I would not go back again.
