We had lunch here on our day trip to Verona. Very good location close to Piazza delle Erbe. We mainly ate here to try out their donkey and horse dishes. Which were good. The service is great and very friendly. A worthwhile place to have a meal especially if you are interested in trying out their specialties.

Mediocre food for the proce. We stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for one that was recommended, and because of the time decided to eat at Duca. We found that the daily menu was severely over priced. We both had spaghetti, and the chicken breast with potatoes for the second … Food and service… Just«ok». Will not return.

**OKRESTAURANTWITHHORSEMEATSPECIALITIES** Reservations are a must here, especially after 7PM. AMBIANCE ========= Occupied the ground and first floor of a house with battlements built in the thirteenth century. Supposedly the oldest osteria in town. Tavern and rustic. FOOD ===== € 21.00MENU *SPAGHETTIWITHMEATSAUCE Good flavor, but nothing special. The pasta didn’t taste homemade, more like packaged. They asked me if «ragu» was OK and I agreed to it. I think their«ragu» is actually donkey meat. Oh boy. RATING: 3⁄5 *TENDERBEEFSTEWEDINAMRONEREDWINESAUCEWITHPOLENTA Their beef was OK once again. Nothing extraordinary. The polenta was overkill after consuming the spaghetti. RATING: 3⁄5 BEVERAGE ========= House red was rather disappointing. Lacked boldness. RATING: 3⁄5 SERVICE ======== The women staff were«to-the-point». Not exactly friendly, not exactly unfriendly. Food came out quickly. NOTES ====== Their specialities are BIGOLIWITHDONKEYRAGU, pappardelle with duck sauce, pasta and fagioli, and horse meat dishes. Didn’t try any of these since we were not into donkey or horse meat. Was our least favorite dining experience in Verona. Preferred the nearby wine bars.

We went here based on reading Frommers. Frommers has never lead us astray to a bad restaurant — this one broke that record. We had chicken and potatoes for my daughter, ravioli with mushrooms and a tagliatelle with meat sauce. The food was not bad, but it was not good. I forced myself to eat the tagliatelle and the ravioli was poor. The chicken tasted quite good, but it was something that we would cook at home. When i go out to eat I want to experience something different. The service was a bit rude and the house wine was the worst we had. I speak some italian and we had some attitude from the servers. Perhaps it was because it was late, but come-on, no one even starts to eat dinner in Italy until 9pm anyway, so 10pm should not be much different.
