We came here after it was recommend to us by our B&B host. This is a locals place and we were pretty much the only Americans in there. We ordered two pizzas one cheese and basil and the other with prosciutto. The ambiance outside was cute and it was a perfect cool summer night. They give you bread sticks as you wait for your meal. The pizzas are pretty big they are probably considered large in America and everyone orders one for themselves. Despite them being large the crust is extremely thin. Crispy thin. You eat the entire thing and don’t feel like a glutton because of the thin crust. The cheese on these pizzas is unlike any other I’ve tasted. The cheese and the crust is what makes these pizzas stand out from American pizza. The ingredients are much, much better. It was not like THE best pizza I had while in Italy but I really enjoyed the crispy thin crust aspect of it. One thing I learned during our stay in Italy is that the service at restaurants is very different then in the U.S. First of all, if you think they are being rude, they are not. They just do things differently, unless if they are throwing water at you they operate differently then what you might be used to back home. Waiters are not going to come by and check on you, you have to flag them down. You also have to flag them down when you are ready to order and when you want the check. Don’t wait for them to come because they might not! They don’t work for tips so they don’t have to kiss your ass. That’s my tip for all you Americans.

We stopped by Pizzeria da Sandro for pizza and espresso and were very pleased with the food. Our Italian sausage and olive pizza was hot, cheesy, and deliciously seasoned. Best of all: the prices were inexpensive. Our bill was under 13 euros. My husband and I visited here inbetween the lunch and dinner hour so most of the staff was in the kitchen and the dining room was deserted. Our waitress seemed annoyed with us when we asked if they were open and seemed reluctant to give us menus. The outdoor seating area was unoccupied except for one person who was smoking so perhaps they would have preferred for us to eat outside? Despite the unfriendly service, the pizza and espresso were good and the restaurant offers free wi-fi so we were able to check our email.
