I don’t frequent classical music performances and have suffered through some, including at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. I thought this would be interesting since it was set in an old church. This was the best part of our venice trip. The performers took their turn to take the lead and solo performances. You could see each performer’s character and style. One in particular was especially animated and they really brought the music to life. Not to be missed!

This was definitely a random jewel of a find during our carefully planned trip to Italy that became the highlight of our days spent in Venice. The hotel we stayed at was a bridge away from the plaza where San Vidal Church, the venue in which the Interpreti Veneziani held their performances, was located. Having decided against a gondola ride, and infected thoroughly by the Vivaldian atmosphere present in Venice, we saw the programs for Interpreti Veneziani and decided to spend our only night in Venice indulged in the beauty of classical music. To be relatively near to the stage, we presented ourselves 30 minutes before the show and purchased the ticket without any trouble. Then the performance started, the program is absolutely an amazing line-up and the performances conducted by the ensemble is even more extraordinary. Every piece had rotating leads, the music that came out of their instrument is an extension of their passion that you can feel in every stroke of the string; they are thoroughly enjoying the experience as much as the audiences, the intense conversations they carry out with their instruments in a duo, the spring in their step when they move freely with the rhythm of the music; this must be what it’s like when one feels the music imbued in their soul. I allowed myself to be thoroughly carried away by their performances, joyed and even brought to shed a few tears at one point in their performance. I left the church quite taken, in an almost dreamlike state.(I play the violin myself) I would recommend this to anyone that wanders close to the square on the nights of their performances. After all, indulging in something musical while being here, is indisputably Venetian.
