This place was pretty terrible. I stayed here last summer for ONE night. Originally, it was supposed to be 3 nights, but after the first night, I couldn’t wait to get the hell out. I thought it looked pretty and quaint with a touch of luxury from the pictures on their website. What a rude awakening it was finally get there and then see my room. The room I had was a single, since I was traveling alone. It had a twin bed and small bathroom. Yes, the room was small, but it wasn’t an issue for me. The issue was that it was dirty. There were splattering on the wall, like gunk and brown spots. I don’t even want to know what from. They shower curtain had stains on it. It all felt very unsanitary. Another issue was that the safe in the hotel room wasn’t big enough to fit my laptop. Which is such a red flag. When I leave my hotel room for a few hours or the whole day, I want to know that my laptop and passport are safely secured. Don’t stay here.

Whoever did the first review probably works for them. The rooms are really small and dated. The ventilation is terrible. It blows out hot air. We were forced to open the windows, but then the room becomes swarmed with mosquitoes! I’, m in here now and I got bitten so many times, including my eyelid and cheek. I look like I got punched out! This is a start of a terrible vacation! The location isn’t bad and the staff is really nice, but the room needs work. We can’t even open the windows anymore because of all the bugs itching to get in. I’m typing this right now at 2am in the hotel room! We ended up getting up to kill mosquitoes. There are tiny blood stains on the wall from us killing them after they bit us! Also, the shower stall is quite small. I’m a petite person(5’1), and I kept bumping into the shower nozzle and turning it off while showering. Update: I went down to complain the next morning, and the douche bag refused to change my room even after seeing my swollen eye from all the mosquito bites. I went back again in the afternoon and spoke to another manager and this time the guy changed us to a higher floor. It had less mosquitoes, but in this particular hotel, I say invest in a can of bug spray. We heard the patrons upstairs screaming and swatting the wall. I’m guessing they had the same problem we did. P. S.- We were originally supposed to stay in Hotel Canaletto, but we were stupid enough to let Hotel Canaletto switch our hotels because they said«they overbooked.» Lies! Do not let them switch you. This is a much worse hotel than Canaletto. I spoke to other people who were on the same GOTODAY Tour and the hotel staff tried to do the same thing to them. They didn’t leave their hotel with mosquito bites!

OK, so first of all… it’s Venice, so everything comes with the sparkly veneer of romance, but nonetheless, the Hotel Panada is a tiny gem of a boutique hotel a mere few yards from St. Mark’s Square. We had been booked in as part of our tour and were unsure what to expect. The hotel is… well, I would say«down an alley», but then perhaps«pathway» would be better, and MOST of Venice(the dry bit at least…) is down a pathway! The foyer and adjacent bar are perfectly, intimately fitted out, the staff are utterly wonderful and helpful. The rooms are fitted out in fine Venetian tog(imperial ducal colours; red and gold!), with Murano chandeliers, comfy beds, good sized bathrooms, good sized balconies. The breakfast room is light and airy with a good selection of foods… above all, it’s just kind of relaxing and reassuring. A very good place from which to explore and to which to return with confidence. Odd how a little place like this knocks spots of a big corporate hotel like the Heathrow Thistle, but, believe me, it does, it does! Highly recommended!
