Tasty pizza and pasta in a nice setting, with excellent staff. The pasta was not ‘out of this world,’ but it was certainly worth the price and was enjoyable. I would recommend this place to other travelers.

We found this lovely restaurant near our hotel and it was wonderful. We shared a mixed antipasto plate that was large and had lots of lovely Italian hams and some mozzarella di bufalo that was certainly enough for two. I had a delicious spaghetti a la carbonara and my husband had the best lasagna we’ve ever tasted. Its a family run restaurant with wonderful service. I highly recommend it!

Ate lunch at Al Cherubino on September 10th, 2015 during a 2-day trip to Venice with my brother. Staff were very courteous and efficient, and the food we ordered was very good. Less crowded feel than other restaurants in the vicinity of Piazza San Marco. The owner was also on site while we were there, and ran our bill for us. I told him of the great reviews I had seen about the restaurant, and he was pleased to hear this. Would recommend this restaurant!

Based on reviews here and elsewhere, we selected this place early on New Year’s Eve. The place displayed a special, limited menu with jacked up prices, but it was OK with us. With all the places with bad food in town, we were ready to pay a little more to have a good meal. The waiter informs us that we can only get what’s on the menu, no exceptions. We are traveling with two small kids and there is no pasta dish with tomato sauce, only white sauce and lasagna. We ask whether we could have the spaghetti with a tomato sauce for the kids, but we are informed rather rudely that this isn’t possible, because«the cook only cooks what’s on the menu tonight». Notice: we are native italian speakers. A bit taken aback at this point, we decide to accommodate and we change the order for the kids to lasagna(hoping they will eat it), and proceed to order one appetizer, two main dishes(around 26 – 30 euro each), water, and a bottle of wine. Note that side dishes are an additional charge(8 euro!). At this point the waiter tells us that we MUST order two side dishes, as each adult«needs» to order at least 50 euro. This isn’t written anywhere on the menu. So we left. With this kind of attitude we won’t be returning.

Attentive staff. A lot of home crafted recipes! If you want chips(French fries), go somewhere else. This is local, Italian, Venezia food.

This place has great food, a wide selection, and is family owned. They were friendly and even had the owner waiting on the tables and making sure things went smoothly. The prices were very reasonable as well. Only thing bad I have to say wasn’t even their fault. There was a snafu with a man that was unhappy about the potatoes(chips) and made a bit of a scene but they handled it very well.(Don’t go to an Italian restaurant if you want fresh chips… who would have thought it…)

Service was okay but they were a bit condescending and rude to us throughout the meal. We ordered the homemade gnocchi and lasagna bolognese. Lasagna was the better of the two but they didn’t use enough ricotta in my opinion and it was not very substantial. The gnocchi was not soft and pillowy as it should be like at other restaurants that offer homemade gnocchi– it was slightly hard and doughy. The pesto sauce was just okay– not very flavorful and was really lacking in combination with the gnocchi itself. Overall the food was just okay– very mediocre. Definitely would not recommend it to friends or go back ourselves.

We had a fantastic evening here tonight! Although the restaurant was packed and we did not make reservations, the owner graciously made a place for us. The ambiance is very cozy and romantic. The restaurant is actually quite large, but still gives you an intimate feel. We had the king crab pasta which was amazing!!! This was the best dish I had in all of Italy over the past 10 days. We also got the seafood mixed grill for two which was extremely fresh. The fish is bone in, so make sure you know how to clean a fish. The prices are reasonable and the portions are filling. We loved it here and would most certainly come again!

Very nice meal. The house red(28 €)(14 €)for a half is ok and tended to be on the expensive side compared to others. The food was excellent as the new wife and I shared a shrimp and arugula risotto for two. Was told by the waiter it takes about 25 minutes to make. Excellent that means good risotto and I love a good risotto. Also had the filet with mushroom sauce. Tremendous creamy mushroom sauce with chucks of mushrooms over a 10oz sirloin. Very good but ask the to cook more on the well side.(I love a medium rare steak and their medium was still a little undercooked). So recap. Excellent choice, somewhat reasonable should be able to get a seat.

Great quality food, really captures true Italian flavours! Not too expensive, especially for the area and the service from staff is great. Would definitely recommend to others. The Italian meat platter, sausage and crab fettuccine were highlights for us.

Superb Italian food off the beaten path. Nobody hassles you to come inside. Authentic and delicious but not too expensive either. Offers house wine and daily specials. Friendly staff

The food here was good, the Italian antipasto plate was amazing! The service however is the main reason I’m on here. They were beyond nice! We went in before their mid-day close. I didn’t realize that they closed mid-day, they sat us served us and never once rushed us out. In fact they sat down and ate with us! They were so kind!

Wow… get the zuppa di pesce. So good that I wanted a second serving. Came for dinner with a small group on Sunday evening and was seated promptly. Service there was excellent. Waiter was attentive and each course was well timed. The food was very good. I’m usually not too impressed by Italian food since it’s just pasta that I feel I can make at home, but this place I really enjoyed.

Wonderful staff, delicious food. Would highly recommend. The zuppa de pesce was the highlight of so many highlights(including the house wine and scallops). My son gives it 5 stars – best fish he’s ever had. I’d give it 4.5, if we could do half star ratings.

We had a very good dinner here yesterday. The house red wine was very good. We shared a delicious bruschetta appetizer with really good quality fresh tomatoes and basil. Also had gnocchi which were light as a feather and shared very good quality gelato for dessert. It was not outlandishly expensive as so many restaurants in the San Marco area are. I would definitely go back!

We ate at Ristorante Trattoria Cherubino on 17 May 2015. It was delightful. Tripadvisor gave this restaurant a good rating. However, when using google maps to find it, we were directed to a different restaurant, repeatedly. Very strangely, when using google maps, results are directed to Osteria Enoteca San Marco — this makes me think there is some google keywod shenanigan going on. If you end up in front of Osteria Enoteca when using google maps and you want to go to Trattoria Cherubino, then while facing Enoteca, turn to the right, go to the end of the alley, and turn left, Cherubino will be on your left. We got there around 6 p.m. and were given a table right by the window. It was very romantic. We got a very good red wine, Valpolicella Ripasso, 2011, for 34 €. We ordered the cicchetti(or as the Venetians spell it, cichetti) as an appetizer and we both ordered the seafood spaghetti. We were both very pleased with the meal. The cicchetti gives you a little bit of everything. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and the owner was friendly.
