Good place to stop in for an espresso, but a great place to leave with a pastry. The two counters are on opposite sides of the store, and the pastry counter is fiendishly placed where you have to stand in line to pay. It’s all fresh, and it’s all marvelous. Additionally, if you would like something a little larger for a special occasion, Bargello will be happy to take your order a day in advance. When we did so for a large party, the freshly-made tray of millefoglie disappeared like water under the desert sun among the guests. Last, but not least, there is a small but interesting liquor selection at the back. Mostly cordials and good after-dinner options, but I walked away with a fantastic Cuban 7-year rum. This is a fantastic little shop for when you’ve reached your«savory» limit in the fantastic nearby bakeries, and just want a little bit of «sweet». Enjoy it if you’re nearby.
