I went here on recommendation of my b&b close by. I got a marinara pizza and a beer. They brought me a large beer(there were 2 sizes, they didn’t ask which I wanted, I assumed regular was default but the large must be), and I ordered a marinara pizza. The pizza was okay, nothing compared to the nearby rossopomodoro, but okay for a 5.50 euro pizza. The service was not really great, and the atmosphere was straight up terrible. They were playing music videos so loud that I could barely hear myself think, and I was the only person eating there. I would not go back, and I probably wouldn’t recommend them. If you want pizza and a drink, head to rossopomodoro for better food and better service and better atmosphere, at the same price point.

We wanted to check out Del Maro’s but they were closed, so we decided to take a chance on Planet which is nearby. Lucky us, it was pretty good! I ordered the linguine lobster while the hubby got a pizza and we were both pleasantly surprised by our dishes. Both were good. I guess that we weren’t counting on it being that good because it looked a little touristy. Overall, excellent service and better than expected food.

I was heading to Del Murro’s [famous BEST deal pasta in Venice] BUT they are closed! I was frustrated and when I walked a few buildings back out of that alley I passed by Planet, and a man stopped me on my tracks. He told me about the deals and the free wifi which I was sold [because I needed wifi to book an airbnb lol]: What I ordered: lasagna+salad+gelato+choice of drink [wine, beer, water] SPECIAL for € 12 + 10% service charge if you dine in. Pros: –The guy that sold me in was Marco, and he told me that he was a friend of the owner. –He let me use his phone to call a local Venice, Italy number to get my airBNB situated. –The food was pretty good, and I supposed it was a good deal since I got free wifi and a place to charge my electronics. Tips: –There are pasta to go window specials that range between € 6 to € 8 [dine out only]. Conclusion: If you need a good pit stop for wifi, charge of electronics and pretty good deal then go here. Planet would have been much different without Marco though!

Not bad for a 12 € set menu, includes a choice of 3 pasta dishes, mixed salad, small beer, wine or water and a scoop of gelato. But a lot of tourists come in including groups so it’s super busy for the staff so don’t be in a hurry when eating here.

The food was edible but really picked the wrong place. Service was so-so, the pizzas came out pretty fast and were tasty but I didn’t taste freshness. It was«ok» but so much lower on the scale of food we ate in Venice. Just a few steps away is a «fast food» fresh pasta take away place you MUST Try.

So with a little«Trip Advisor» on their door and some Gondoliers seen through the window, we didn’t think we could possibly be too wrong, right? Even the waiter said that the pasta was homemade. Gnocchi with four cheeses and the Tagliatelle with mushrooms and truffle. The gnocchi didn’t taste soft and pillowy or anything fantastic(and the cheeses weren’t well mixed, with a «blue cheese-ish or kick-in-the-face cheese» on one side of the dish and a soft mild cheese on the other. My tagliatelle was Super salty and no taste of truffle(and I love salty food). Overall, I’m not so sure the place really made their pasta fresh. No sitting fee(as advertised on the door), but they charge a 10% service charge(as written on the menu). Service was decent, nothing special. Don’t know if 36 euros for two is expensive, but that was our total. This place looks more like a place to get drinks and hang out and less of a foodie place. ps — The gondoliers were only drinking there, not eating.

Gee I thought I was sitting in a cheesy Italian restaurant in US or something as this place was running amok with ahem tourist like me and my family. Was hard to find and food was pretty BAD. Had set dinner menu and 2 Kg of fish for 4 consisted of deep fried small shrimps and calamari rings. Meh appetizer and they switched desert last minute on us. House wine was not drinkable either. People who rate this place high must not really had real authentic Italian food or something… Avoid and eat where Italian is spoken.

Excellent hidden local gem, simple but excellent food and prices. Anyone that misses this spot will regret paying tourist prices for lousy food, a local hangout with superb food, desserts. Eat with the locals and save your euros for the beautiful masks and glass from murrillo

Good simple lunch place. Gondola drivers eat here.
