This was recommended by our concierge as well and seems to be a family owned little venture with darling linens and glass blown items. We were starving and needed a place that was still open. I was a bit nervous to go somewhere right on the water but the food and service was excellent. We ordered the pasta with clam sauce and it was homey, very good. The salad was a bit blah — iceberg lettuce and not-red tomatoes but I think it might be partly a cultural difference. Desert was good. A little pricey overall considering that the BEST places we’ve gone are dirt cheap and INCREDIBLE so I think as charming as Carpaccio was, part of their rating is for sincere effort. The owner was a bit hokey, singing, and being very«italian» but he was nice enough and very welcoming.

This was our first restaurant in our first stop in our lengthy trip to Italy. While the food was pretty good(when comparing it to dishes we had throughout our duration in the country), we paid a large amount for the bill. With all the pre-travel tips I read about making sure to get an itemized bill and being conscious at restaurants, this is the one location I did not and we paid dearly. The 5 of us in my party spent approximately 250 Euro for 1 glass of wine each and a dish(1 person had a cheese platter, another calamari, 2 shared one dish and I had pasta). Again, all of the dishes were delicious. However, the final bill, especially when compared to the remainder of the restaurants we visited, did not compute. I can say that while we paid dearly, the staff was very courteous and accommodating. While I would recommend this restaurant, I would be very conscious of your bill.

Our first night in Venice we stumbled on this gem & it was the best meal by far that we had during our 4-days in the city. My wife had the pasta & lobster and I had the prosciutto & melon as my main course. Great meal, friendly service & right on the canal— but tucked off the side of a small canal so very private.
