I spent several days staying the Ambassador recently on a business trip. Udine is just over an hour NE of Venice, if one is driving 180 km on the Autobahn. The hotel is on a street about 10 minutes walk to the middle of the old town. It is about four blocks from the train station. There is a small park right across the street, a convenience store next to the hotel, and several restaurants on the same street. The rooms have been renovated just a couple of years ago and are very nice. The breakfast is continental and the staff are friendly. Most speak at least some English. The internet access was included. However, it was not always reliable. I got dropped several times each night. It is possible I was at the edge of the wireless coverage though. I was usually able to reconnect quickly. My customer had a direct bill arrangement so I do not know the price. I would certainly be willing to stay there again.
