Aeroporto di Treviso Canova

This was a dreadful experience. staff was mostly very very rude. In spite of only having one flight per hour, our flight managed to be late because they were late to do the boarding. Absolutely unorganised, no queueing system anywhere. People were waiting around and then just joined on a big human mass regardless of people like me that had been orderly queueing for 45 minutes. The prices at he duty free shops were ridiculous and more expensive than uk.
If you see this and have the opportunity of flying to Marco Polo airport instead, please do!

Je rejoins les commentaires précédents. Petit aéroport desservi par Ryanair au départ de Charleroi notamment. Prévoir le temps nécessaire pour le check-​in et les contrôles de sécurité.
Les toilettes sont relativement propres et nombreux.
Il est possible de s’asseoir, d’acheter à manger, à boire, à lire et quelques souvenirs de dernières minutes (plus chers qu’à Venise néanmoins).

Truly MINOR airport, if you are leaving from here you are most likely boarding a charter flight (Ryanair, to be more precise).
Over the years both the air company and this airport have taken a slow riding rope down the pit of… yeah … let us not be too negative.
Let’s just say that, should you have a toddler or infant travelling with you, security guards shan’t be in the least understanding and sympathetic. I was rudely told to dispose of a juice and a bottled water due to «security reasons». Was told i could purchase the SAME exact brands once inside the terminal. I just had seen the «security scrutiny» said items go through in that airport (NON existing).
The airport is right outside Treviso. So, allot extra time to get from the train station (via bus or taxi). Make sure to bring food because the food court is limited. And, make sure you avoid being charged extra by Ryanair..

Small airport for the budget airlines. 40 minutes from Venice but, remember, what you are saving on the flight costs (if you are careful with RyanAir). On departure there is a small snack bar beyond security and, surprisingly, very cheap coffee.
On arrival you have the problem of getting to Venice. Coaches abound outside on arrival of flights which take you to Venice. Use Eurobus or AVTO as they take you to the main square from there the waterbus is a short stroll. There is another coach, the name of which I cannot remember, something like Barco, which you should avoid. It takes you to an area outside. You then have to take the People Mover (which we learned after our arrival and a long walk with cases) to the Main square of Piazza da Roma. The bus driver gave us no directions

Not a great airport — small, inefficient queuing (2 hrs) but reasonably clean — and you can get food. Expect your typical budget airline experience of charging heavily for over weight bags, and extras.
Make sure you buy your bags ahead of time and try to print your boarding passes, and checkin online.
Another review mentioned fees for not printing your boarding pass — this is incorrect. There are fees for no checking in, but once you checkin then you just go to the «non-​self bag checkin» queue and they give print your boarding passes as normal without a fee.
Also, Ryanair are generous with carry on — 2 x bags pee person (1×10kg), so we were over on weight and just took a bag as cabin luggage — problem solved. Hope this helps

Ryan Air
The airport was fine maybe even great, but the Airline Ryan Air is awful. If you don’t have a boarding pass printed you get charged 70 euro ($ 100 USD while we were there) also they charge you for checked bags by the kilogram. 15kg was 30 euro and 20 kg was 40 euro. also it is a 20 euro charge for each kilo over. We were throwing away pillows, books, and clothes in the airport to try to make weight. We also layered up with our clothes. My fiancé was wearing shorts and a shirt under her dress and heaviest high heals. It was ridiculous.
Also the seats didn’t recline on the plane. The flight attendants seemed more concerned with selling duty free items and phone cards than anything else.
This Airline would be fine if you have one small carry on and access to a printer.

Einfach ein unterirdischer Flughafen. Für die regelmäßig große Menge der abzufertigenden Passagiere ist der Aeroporto di Treviso Canova viel zu klein und chaotisch organisiert. Dazu kommt eine katastrophale Beschilderung sowie ein unglaublich unfreundliches Flughafenpersonal. Bin jetzt zum dritten Mal dort gewesen und werde künftig auf den Marco Polo Airport in Venedig ausweichen.

I fly Ryanair, OK?! Don’t judge me…
I have to say of the way out there, middle of no where, no where near the location you’re supposed to go, discount Ryanair serving airports this is one of the best! Now don’t get ahead of me I’m not saying this is the best airport, just one of the better ones.
Located within a half an hour drive of Venice this airport does have convenience on its side. There are several options to get from Treviso to Venice with the Atvo Bus being the best option. I found the set up of the airport convenient and efficient though I didn’t have to deal with customs so I can’t speak to that.
If you’re traveling within the EU and looking for a reasonable trip to Venice do yourself the favor of looking into Aeroporto Civile di Treviso. It’s no Marco Polo but the savings are worth it.

Ich muss zugeben, dass ich etwas geschockt war, als wir in Treviso landeten. Dieser Flughafen ist nicht viel größer als eine Bahnhofshalle einer mittleren Kleinstadt.
Dies führt leider dazu, dass die Menschenschlangen zwischen Check-​in und Sicherheitsschleuse sich ziemlich konfus kreuzen und man leicht den Überblick verliert, wo die jeweilige Reihe weitergeht.
Besonders interessant fand ich damals, die Bildschirme mit kleinen Filmchen vor der Sicherheitskontrolle, in denen einem ziemlich putzig erklärt wird, was sich im Kontrollbereich abspielt, was man alles ablegen und was man wegschmeißen muss.
Der Shuttle-​Bus nach Venedig steht direkt vor dem Eingang und kostet nur 5EUR! In Deutschland für eine solche Entfernung undenkbar — man käme nicht mal vom Flughafengelände!

Kleiner, aber feiner Flughafen, der das Label «Billigflughafen» nicht verdient, auch wenn nur Billigflieger den Weg hierhin finden. Der gesamte Innenbereich wirkt aufgeräumt, modern und man findet sich gut zurecht. Besonders positiv finde ich den Warteraum vor dem Boarding. Wer das Glück hat und einen der Plätze mit Fußablage zu ergattern, kann entspannt liegend das Rollfeld beobachten und sich so die Zeit bis zum Abflug verstreichen lassen. Der Flughafen ist relativ gut an das Nahverkehrsnetz angeschlossen. Es verkehren viele Busse nach Venedig und auch nach Padua gibt es mindestens stündlich Busse. Für weitere Reisen empfiehlt sich der Stadtbus zum Bahnhof Treviso, von wo aus über Mestre viele Fernzüge erreichbar sind.
Wem der Flughafen Venedig zu viel Stress bereitet, der sollte Treviso wählen, falls die Fluggesellschaft (z.B. Ryanair oder Germanwings) diesen Flughafen ansteuert.

Beware that at the security check they measure and check the weight of your hand baggage, the lady seems strickt and will not let you in if you have two piece of hand baggage…

Treviso liegt etwa eine halbe Stunde von Vendig entfernt. Ob man nun nach Treviso reist oder zum Flughafen Venedig, ist eigentlich egal, weil die Entfernung sich nicht viel nimmt. Der Flughafen ist relativ neu, klein und daher auch stressfrei. Ich habe es nicht bereut, für einen Venedigauffenthalt von dort geflogen zu sein. Per Bus (kostet etwa 5 Euro) kommt man in er halben Stunde direkt an die Piazza Roma nach Venedig. Das nächste Mal schaue ich mir Treviso auch mal an.

Economic but uncomfortable.

Der Flughafen Venedig-​Treviso liegt ca. 47 km und 80EUR Taxifahrt vom Zentrum Venedigs entfernt.
Es handelt sich dabei um einen kleinen, mit dem nötigsten ausgestatteten aber durchaus sauberen Flughafen.
Es ist vergleichbar mit dem Flughafen Frankfurt-​Hahn. Es fliegen hauptsächlich Billigflüge über diesen Flughafen und in den Stoßzeiten wird es wohl ziemlich voll und dichtgedrängt sein.
Die Intervalle, in denen der Pendelbus zwischen Treviso und Venedig fährt sind günstig: alle 10min bis 19h.
Wer also nicht vorhat, viel Zeit am Flughafen zu verbringen und auf wenig Komfort angewiesen ist, kann sich ruhig hierher wagen. Man ist wirklich schnell ist Venedig und vom preislichen her rentiert es sich.

This airport caters almost exclusively for Ryanair flights across Europe so you can fly directly between out of town airports for your ill convenience.
Well, that aside this airport is quite small but not teeny tiny. What I liked about it was the fact that they had not hauled the prices up to ridiculous levels for food OR souveniers. Even the vending machine was good value — I spend my last 60c on a cherry croissant.
What I did not like was the fact it was clearly understaffed. I know we were that last flight of the day (can they really not wait 30 minutes later to close the shops after we’ve got on the plane?) but it seemed silly that it took so long when it was sort of obvious that it didn’t need to take so long.
Anyway. It was overall a pleasant experience. The bus into Mestre/​Venice waits for you and is E10 return. Easy peasy.

Small, functional, cheap. All the usual hallmarks of a Ryanair low cost airport. The airport is about an hour bus ride away from Mestre and Venice. The bus service has setup specifically for Ryanair, so if the flight is late, the bus will wait. I think the price wasn’t too expensive, maybe six euros each way.
The airport is quick to transit through arrivals and departures. There are really very few airlines using it, only Ryanair and the Italian low cost airlines. Its definitely not one of the most exciting airports to pass through. I think there was a café/​restaurant and two shops. Still, it does the job, and I really don’t care when it allows for cheap holidays to a nice place like Venice. I will definitely use it again with Ryanair.
If you get there early for a flight, I would recommend spending some time in one of Treviso’s cafes and restaurants.
