Mole Antonelliana

Singular edificio que es todo un emblema de la ciudad de Turín. De 167 metros de altura. Se puede subir hasta arriba del todo mediante un ascensor y disfrutar de vistas panorámicas de toda la ciudad. En su interior alberga el imprescindible Museo Nazionale del Cinema. También hay una pequeña tienda de productos Gourmet de Estaly así como un espacio para degustar sus productos delicatessen.

Wir kennen alle die Mole Antonelliana von der italienischen 2 Cent-​Münze. Das Wahrzeichen von Turin ist nicht nur von Außen zu bestaunen, denn das Film-​Museum im Inneren der Mole ist wirklich sehenswert.
Zusätzlich zahlt sich eine Liftfahrt auf die Aussichtsplattform aus, denn der Ausblick von dort aus ist einfach atemberaubend und unvergesslich. Außerdem ist auch die Fahrt mit dem Panoramalift bereits ein Erlebnis, da man auf diese Art die Räumlichkeiten des Museums bereits zum ersten Mal bestaunen kann!
Ein kleiner Nachteil sind die langen Wartezeiten, denn oft dauert es bis zu zwei Stunden, bis man das Filmparadies endlich betreten kann! Aus diesem Grund kann ich euch nur empfehlen, zeitig in der Früh dorthin zu kommen, da man sonst nicht ums Warten herumkommt!

Kino zum Anfassen, Mitmachen und Staunen. In dem sensationellen Raum der ehemals als Synagoge erbauten Mole Antonelliana (167 m hoch) ist ein wunderbares Kinomuseum mit allem was das Herz begehrt untergebracht. Jetzt aber nicht gähne, denn Museum ist nicht gleich Museum. Auch beim 7ten Besuch gibt es noch Dinge zu entdecken: von der Geschichte der Filmentwicklung, über Optik und tolle begehbare Effekte über eine riesige Laterna Magica Ausstellung wird hier in einger großartigen Umgebung ein Lerngang über die Filmherstellung geboten. Auch ohne Italienisch ist vieles versteh– und nachvollziehbar. Spannend sind die frei zugänglichen Filmsets, in denen man Platz nehmen kann und sich wie ein Filmschauspieler fühlen darf (Foto nicht vergessen!), unglaublich beeindruckend der gewaltige Saal mit zwei riesigen Leinwändern und Liegen, die man nach einer ausgiebigen Besichtigung gut gebrauchen kann, um sich ganze Filme oder Querschnitte aus der Filmgeschichte anzuschauen. Dass Ganze ist so gut gemacht, dass man nach drei Stunden immer noch nicht genug hat. Mitten durch den Raum schwebt immer wieder ein gläserner Fahrstuhl, gezogen und gehalten von winzigen Metallseilen. Wers nicht glaubt, muss es einfach mal seelber gesehen haben. Die Aussicht ist spitze, denn Turin ist nicht verbaut, und wenn es denn klar ist, dann hat man ein fast Rundumpanorama auf die Turin im Halbkreis umgebenden Alpengipfel. Ein magischer Ort, der zentral gelegen nicht weit von der via Po zu Fuß und öffentlich gut erreichbar ist und viel Gastronomie und ein weiteres Programmkino in der Nachbraschft aufweist. Eintrittspreis 8 Euro mit Aufzug. Die Bar beitet ein paar gute Angebote und der Bookshop ist ein absolutes Muss für alle Cineasten. Und nicht zu vergessen, alle Architekturfreunde kommen hier ebenfalls auf ihre Kosten, den die Konstruktion und Baugeschichte suchen Ihresgleichen.

Ein beeindruckendes Gebaeude urspruenglich geplant als Synagoge in angenehmer und entspannter Lage nahe der Universitaet. Das angeblich hoechste gemauerte Bauwerk Europas ueberragt die ganze Stadt und von oben soll man einen hervorragenden Rundumblick ueber Turin und bei klarer Sicht bis weit zu den Alpenkaemmen haben (leider war bei meiner Anwesenheit geschlossen).

Wunderschön ist die Mole. Zum 150sten Geburtstag Italiens war sie in den Nationalfarben geschmückt und beleuchtet. Das Cinema-​Museum innen ist wahnsinnig schön. Man kann sich dort viele verschiedene nachgestellte Filmsets angucken und auch auf gemütlichen Liegesesseln alte Schwarz-​Weiß-​Filme ansehen. Leider war am Tag meines Besuches der Fahrstuhl kaputt, so dass ich den wundervollen Blick über Turin nicht genießen konnte — aber deswegen werde ich wiederkommen!

Las vistas son impresionantes y el ascensor suspendido en el aire también. no recomiendo mucho subir con aire porque hace mucho frío pero sigue valiendo gratamente la vista.

Rien à rajouter après le commentaire d’aquilone qui est plutôt un bon résumé! Telle la tour Effel à Paris, la Mole Antonelliana est le monument symbolique de Turin. Le musée du cinéma qui se trouve au cœur de cet impressionnant édifice est vraiment ludique et intéressant !! Les expos photos sont vraiment prenantes, et les vidéos, mises en scènes, affiches ou objets, retraçant les moments clés de l’histoire du cinéma sont plutôt bien trouvés ! Quant à l’ascenseur transparent qui vous emmèné au sommet, quand on est à l’intérieur, on dirait qu’il n’en finit pas de monter !! Une fois arrivé en haut on peur observer la ville à 360° ! Un musée vraiment original et impressionnant où l’on passé un excellent moment.

For me, although the museum in itself is interesting and worth to be seen, the most attractive part of the Mole Antonelliana is the wonderful elevator (really impressive) that takes you to the top for one of the most beautiful views of Turin.

Emotion à tous les étages !
La mole Antonelliana lance sa flèche jusqu’au coeur du ciel turinois donnant le tournis au passant ou aux nombreux visiteurs qui dans la file d’attente qui s’étend à son pied trépignent d’impatience. Mais c’est losqu’on se trouve sous ses amples jupes de béton et de briquettes rouges qu’elle est la plus impressionnante: enlevés par un ascensseur de verre simplement rattaché entre terre et ciel par quelques câbles, on se retrouve litérallement suspendu dans le vide et aspiré jusqu’au sommet de la tour interminable. Durant ce long voyage de quelques secondes, on se délecte de la vue intérieure de cette dame ébouriffante. Tout le musée national du cinéma, ses écrans géants, ses fauteuils «relax» à écouteurs intégrés, ses décors grandeur nature, ses projections lumineuses se déroule sous nos pieds, au dessus de nos têtes… nous faisons déjà partie du décors ! Tout en haut enfin, le cie l! Non ! Pas encore le paradis mais on y croierait presque: Turin à nos pieds. Simplement merveilleux !

The Mole Antonelliana was one of my favourite attractions of Turin. You definately need to mark that on your map and make a morning of it. I have never been to a cinema museum and this one is good, it had me hooked the whole time. The staff is quite helpful when you enter the building and they try to make you feel at home even when they struggle to communicate with you. The price to enter the museum as well as go on the glass lift is not too expensive. We walked around there for hours, took some bizarre photos and relaxed on those red couches in the middle of the museum. The glass lift was a bit nerve-​wrecking and exciting at the same time. Once you’re on top, you get to see Turin in all it’s glory. Those scared of heights should definately not look down, hehe!

Rising to a height of 167.5 m, the Mole Antonelliana is an unmistakable icon within the Turin cityscape. Built between 1863 and 1888, it was, upon its completion, the highest fully-​accessible building in the world, beating Cologne cathedral by 8 metres.
Originally intended to become a synagogue, it was commissioned by the Jewish community. However, the unbridled ambition of the architect caused the building costs to more than double, doubtless causing much beating of foreheads and cries of I can afford that, already? The good burghers of Turin stepped in to make it a museum for the Italian ‘Risorgimento’ epoch: the 19^th-​century movement for Italian unification that culminated in the establishment of the Kingdom of Italy in 1861.
There is an excitingly-​fast express glass lift without a visible shaft that whisks you up to the outside observation platform, where a neat collection of firm iron bars persuades jumpers that their intended activity is not just a waste of time, but rather downright impossible.
On a clear day, there is a good view of the Alps, but remember that Turin can very often be too hazy for such a treat.
Flying down again to ground level gives you optional access to the main content of the building, which is the National Cinema Museum (or if you prefer the sexy name: ‘Il museo nazionale del cinema.‘
This really is great fun and imaginatively presented. It starts with the origins of cinema and shows how moving pictures evolved from the well-​known revolving internally-​lit circular cards through some fun What the butler saw machines to present-​day technology.
In the centre is a remarkable sight. Do you remember ever having done things in the back row of the cinema that would have better not been recorded for posterity? Go on, admit it!
Well here, I had to suppress a giggle upon surveying a large collection of very low loungers, each equipped with stereo speakers at the head end. A sort of ‘Club-​Class Gaumont’ if you like, but no ice-​cream ladies which is a shame, considering that you are in Italy. The loungers are all at a reasonably respectable distance from each other, so forget it. ;-)
You can crash for as long as you want and look up to two very large screens showing approx. 15 min. clips from Italian classics featuring the likes of Mastroianni, Lollobrigida and Loren etc. The whole show lasts for well over an hour. Intermittently, there is a kind of ‘Son et Lumiere’ show which is beamed right up to the inside of the dome and is very spectacular to watch, while the lift rockets to the top and back down.
Now let’s think about your average museum catering tat. You can forget about that here! Apart from a stylish bar, there are very elegant and stylish eateries that give you the opportunity to oversee the proceedings.
Feeling deprived of sun, we did however opt to eat in a trattoria outside.
I can’t remember what it costs but I’m sure it was about five quid a nose for lift and museum and worth every penny.
