This place is precious! It’s unassuming from the outside but you walk upstairs to this gorgeous garden with romantic lighting. It’s huge and seats hundreds of people, seems to be quite popular for celebrations. That being said, they weren’t judgey about me eating alone and ordering only water. I thoroughly enjoyed my sausage and eggplant lasagna.

One of the most magical restaurants I’ve ever been to. The outside isn’t much, but I had a feeling we needed to eat there. We walk in toward the back and instantly I started tearing up. I know it seems dramatic but it was just so beautiful. The trees create a roof in the patio and even the inside is so rustic and Italian and perfect. I can’t recommend it enough.

The food is just ok… or maybe a bit less than ok. The octopus in the pasta was hard, the cake horrible. The venue is extremely beautiful… lots of plants :) The age average is about 80 y.o. Actually i ve been there to celebrate my grandmother …(89)

This is a special place in Sorrento. It’s setting is incredibly unique and gorgeous. You go up a long set of stairs to reach a beautiful garden where everyone is dining. The food is straightforward but delicious. There may be better Italian food in Sorrento but not at this price. I’d definitely recommend dropping in and having some great pasta and a glass of Falanghina, the local wine.

Our Sorrento apartment owner sent us here, great location a vast dining room from the small street entry. Food was good nothing over the top or blowing you away. Very nice wine selection and menu as well. We stuck to basic pasta bistecca veal all good not great. However Escarole and Beans was really nice and lemon cake desert was special.

I’m glad I trusted the recommendations and checked this place out. Wow. The atmosphere in the garden alone is worth the visit. The home of cannelloni did not disappoint. Prices were very reasonable. Dinner for four with wine, two appetizers and three desserts was 105 euro. The torta riccotta e pera was simply one of the greatest desserts we’ve ever had. We’ll be back this week.

3.5 stars. Venue was fabulous and service was good, but main course — veal and gilthead(sea bass) were ok/average/so so. Pasta app was decently good and side salad was delish. Lemon Delight was ok/not bad. Other tour group mates liked it a lot.

I don’t understand how this restaurant received only 3.5 stars. Il cibo, il vino e dolci erano buoni! The staff were very attentive & welcoming. The restaurant itself is very interesting. The 2nd level dining area– which is were I sat, was sort of like a green house. The stairs had tree branches for the banister. It was a very interesting setting. An appropriate place to dine for couples & family. Tornero presto.

After several days, this was the first good food we had in Sorrento. I had three mixed pasta and enjoyed the gnocchi(even though it had melted cheese on top) and ravioli but not the cannelloni(something about the filling). The large pasta with seafood and mussels pasta were also good.

The Ambiance, the Service and the Food all came together for a memorable evening for our family dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Sorrento. 5 stars without hesitation.

This was by far the best restaurant/meal we had on our tour throughout Italy last week. With the recommendation of our tour guide Mary, we found ourselves walking among the beautiful cobblestone streets of Sorrento and made our way to Parrucchiano. She raved about the food(obviously) and said that the atmosphere was something that we needed to experience. She was right. At a first glance, it’s not your typical restaurant. I my opinion, its very similar to a botanical garden of sorts. There’s plants everywhere(especially those Meyer Lemon Trees they’re known for in Sorrento) and glass floor to ceiling panels which really make this place truly unique. Besides the beautiful decorations, they played classic Italian opera in the background and sat us down in the outside seating area with the stringed lights & candelabras. So it’s safe to say I was already in love. My best friend and I each ordered a glass of wine, fresh bread and homemade pasta(in our best Italian we could muster up*). It was heaven. The wine was fresher than fresh and the bread with olive oil was the perfect beginning to our meal.** I ordered the«Gnocchi al Pomodoro»(little potato-esque dumplings) which was OUTOFTHISWORLD. Cooked to perfection, flavorful and might I add authentic! If that wasn’t enough our meal was about 50 euro which was very reasonable. This was easily the best restaurant we went to while visiting Sorrento. It’s safe to say I’ll never look at Italian food the same way again. Thanks to Parrucchiano. P. S. This was featured in Fodor’s. So you know it’s a win-win! _____________________________________ *We definitely butchered the correct pronunciations of the words but I was so ecstatic I ordered my food AND asked for the check… all in Italian. The waiter loved us. **Apparently dipping bread in olive oil is a big pet peeve in Italy? Oh well, we’re rule-breakers anyway. #rebels

Great, great ambiance, one of the best that I have ever eaten in. Love the fact you can eat under a canopy of lemon trees. However the food was cosi cosi(so so). The pasta was amazing, and the veal was cooked perfectly, but when the fish came out, we were all surprised. It seemed that it just came out of the water, the eyes, the mouth, mio dio. We are not filleters, we have no idea how to filet a fish correctly. I did my best, but due to my novice actions, there were multiple shards of bones. Was it intent for looks, or just laziness among the cooks. Whatever it was, it needs to change. We heard the woman next to us gasp when she got hers delivered.

Fantastic! Best meal we had in Sorrento. Prices were reasonable… 6 of us had a bottle of wine, shared two of the antipasto platters, salads, and entrees for about 150 Euro. Staff was very friendly and made us all feel really welcome. Food was delicious — very fresh. Pasta was homemade. Delicious! Ciao!

I wish I could have given this place a higher rating because the food was good enough and the venue itself is absolutely breathtaking. It has apparently been in business for a very long time. A friend of mine lent me a Cadogan’s guide to Southern Italy which was printed in 1990 and, for a lark, I thought I would see if any of the recommended restaurants were still in business. Imagine my surprise when Parruchiano came into view exactly where it should have been, according to the guide. It is on the main street of Sorrento just beyond the Cathedral and it actually looks quite ordinary from the street. Once you’re inside, however, it’s magnificent. There is and long staircase surrounded by plants. There is a huge space at the top of the staircase and the whole building appears to be encased in glass. My friend noted at the time that it would be perfect for a wedding reception and I’ve noticed from googling since I got back to the UK that it does seem to be popular(and very good) for this type of thing. Unfortunately, we went there late on a Sunday night when the chef was apparently ready to go home. Because we weren’t led to a table by a Maitre D we sitting for about 15 minutes before anybody noticed that we were there and offered us a menu. We were then bullied into ordering straight away and our second course was placed on the table while we were still eating our first course. So we were rushed through our meal and then charged for a bottle of wine which we hadn’t ordered. When we challenged the waiter about this he apologised and took the cost of the wine off the bill but didn’t adjust the compulsory service charge. I hope that the awful service was just bad timing on our part and that if we had gone earlier we would have had a much happier experience here. I would probably go again, however, just for the venue.
