Dinner in a cave? Yes please! We read the other reviews and had the BEST meal in Town in this restaurant. The family is lovely and made us feel so welcome. They toured us all around the cave, gave us tastes of their homemade limoncello, and served the most delicious food. Made by mama. So, so good. The local wine, grown and produced by a friend of he owners, was divine, and we were thrilled to take a jug of it back to our hotel. Grazie!

I would give a 10* if this were an option! Absolutely the best place we ate at during our 7 day stay in this area! Everything is freshly made to order cooked by Mama! This is a family restaurant and in a very unique location… not easily found. It’s in a cave, beautifully made into a restaurant with a outside terrace. Egisto, the owner will give you a tour and share some history with you! We ate here several times during our stay and each time it was fabulous! Loved the food, the family who took care of us while there! We now have new friends in Soriano and can’t wait to return! This place is a must if you are near the area! Best place In Soriano!

Find it. Enjoy every minute, every morsel, every interaction. This hidden gem may be hard to find in the small town — just down the staircase in the middle of the town square — but it is so worth the hunt. Food is simply incredible — flavors dance across your taste buds like a symphony. The service is good and friendly. If they don’t offer, request the cave tour– you simply have to appreciate the full intensity and history of this setting. You will not be disappointed.

Without doubt the coolest place in Soriano most people completely miss out on. If you are not looking for this place, you will probably miss it, since it is not in an obvious location. Just to the left of the main cathedral in the town piazza, there is an unassuming staircase that leads down to a lower section of the town. as you walk about half-way down these stairs, you will find the entrance to Rottezzia, and as you enter, it is like walking into a new world. The location is created out of a series of caves that spider under the town’s piazza. Much of it was used as wine cellars in ancient times, and even a bomb shelter during world war II. As you walk through the caves, little rooms are revealed with tables and chairs. A truly fantastic locale! It is the kind of place that if it were not a pub, one might expect to buy a ticket to get in and see it as a tourist attraction. The pub is open late into the night, serves excellent food and a wide variety of wine and beer. The staff here is wonderful and always helpful.
