Excelente atención por parte de su dueño, comida Toscana de verdad, precios buenos. De verdad un excelente lugar.

Delicious and the service was so friendly. Seems like a great local find vs the ones in the Campo… wonderful for a great price

Amazing restaurant tucked away off the main Campo. My husband and I enjoyed our meals and atmosphere so much the first night in Siena, that we returned the next night and enjoyed it just as much, if not better. My husband had the pici both nights while I had the ravioli one night and vegetable lasagna the other night. They were both great but I would strongly recommend the lasagna. The sauce has wonderful flavor without being too thick like an American cream sauce. We sat back in the cellar part of the restaurant and enjoyed the privacy. The owner chatted with us for a while, and even gave us a few euros off since we were referred by our b&b there. Overall, a fabulous experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone in Siena for a night!

This place was AMAZING, and definitely the best food I had in Italy. My family and I ate here both of our days in Siena. First off, the owner is super friendly and a great host, and is always there to recommend or help you out if needed. Also, the restaurant is in a wine cellar so it’s super cool and has the very much needed air conditioning for a hot and tiring day. The food was amazing both times we went there. We first were served an appetizer that tasted of mainly tomatoes but also had onions and other vegetables. One night we ordered a meat platter and the other a crostini platter. Our first night there I had the cacio e pepe which was amazing and the pasta was perfectly tender. I also had the chance to taste the vegetable risotto, which was equally delicious. The next night I ordered the mushroom and truffle pasta which was by far the best meal I had during my 2 week trip to Italy. It had mushrooms and finely shaved truffles mixed into a sauce. You can be sure that my plate was licked clean, and that I still can taste that dish. We also tried some of the desserts. The fruit torte was a little dry, but the sauce paired perfectly with it. I had previously never tried panna cotta, and this was an amazingly creamy and rich dessert. The chocolate cake was also delicious and rich. Prices are super reasonable for high quality. 10⁄10 I definitely recommend to anyone that ever has the chance to visit Siena.

Absolutely loved this place! We nearly passed it and I am so glad we didn’t! The owner came to our table and gave us great suggestions for our wine and meal. He can come off as a jerk at first, but he was anything but that once you warm up to him. He joked and laughed with us throughout our meal. If you are feeling brave, let him pick a meal for you. Ask for the house wine, it is absolutely delicious and is only 15 € for a bottle. I tried a few different dishes. The knoochi with pesto was wonderful, but could have held back on the pesto a bit. The spinach casserole as well as the Pici were my favorites.

must go place in Siena! Like the sentence the owner always says: great but not expensive traditional home style food. Forgot about the menu, ask the owner to prepare everything. The free appetizer was sour a little bit but prepare you greatly for the following food. We are four people sharing two entries, two first courses, three main dishes, two deserts plus two bottle of good wines. 122 euros! The best meal in Italy so far!

Solid meal, excellent service, great house wine, nice environment(an old wine cellar). Four stars for this visit as no dish was truly memorable, but overall an enjoyable dinner and we would certainly go back again if visiting Siena.

just off the main square, the owner is gracious and authentic, the food is delicious. Great date night as it is cave-like, original brick from 1400’s. Limoncello is fantastic.

Wonderful restaurant in an old wine cellar. We had a great waiter who is also the owner I believe. He was very attentive, making sure we were enjoying our meal. He even recommended wine for me. The food was very well prepared, we started with the pecorino cheese plate and had all our own entrees. I had the risotto and vegetables, which was delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their meals too. For dessert I recommend the fruit torte which is more like a bread pudding with a lightly sweet lemon sauce. The chocolate cake was also good but on the drier side so it definitely needed the cream to balance it out.

I’m Italian and from Tuscany, and I can say that the food here is delicious! Good bottles of wine are not expensive and the waiters are very nice. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Looking for great food away from the noise of Piazza del Campo? This is it. The atmosphere is cave-like, but well done. And«fresco» — nice and cool when you want to get away from the summer heat. The owner was very attentive and patient with us, and the food was outstanding. And it’s just steps outside the lower-bowl of the piazza.

We had a very flavorful lunch just steps from IL Campo. The service was molto friendly and they really wanted us to enjoy our meal with them. They went out of their way to make sure we understood the menu(an Italian and English version was provided). The Vegetable Lasagna and Gnocchi with Tarragon Pesto were incredible. The house vino bianchi we ordered was the best we have had so far. We rarely review but felt this place deserved recognition… Bravo!

This place is everything you’d hope for in an Italian restaurant. It’s family-run, small and intimate, and the food is fresh and tasty. It’s in a great location, right next to the campo so it was easy to get to. We were welcomed in and the server/waiter/owner was great about telling us about the specials and giving us recommendations. He was attentive but not intrusive. We had the fennel bechamel, pici aglione(garlic sauce), and pumpkin/saffron risotto. Before our food came out, he brought us some pappa al pomoro(tomato and bread soup) to try, which was simple yet amazing. The food was good. The risotto was probably the best(soft, rich, fresh) and the fennel bechamel good(creamy and crunch). Pici is an interesting pasta in that it’s thicker than regular spaghetti. The aligone(which means garlic) was very garlicky, which can be good depending on your taste, but was a bit strong for us. Overall, while not every dish was perfect, they were all good. And combined with great service and a nice atmosphere, this is a great restaurant.

What a great place. We had such a wonderful night here. The food was Tuscan and fresh and tasted like we hoped for throughout our trip. The Tagliata was absolutely superb and the Safron Risotto has made a lasting impression. We also had the Polenta and a fantastic Vino Nobile. The prices were absolutely fair. This was an amazing choice thanks to Unilocal… 5 stars well deserved!

The place is awesome! Just around the corner from Il Campo. It’s not as touristy as the ones that face Il Campo and is rather rustic and we loved the ambience! The people there were so nice and spoke very good English and even made me something off the menu that was vegan-friendly. They were even willing to make me risotto without cheese just for me! The prices were very reasonable as well.

I found this little restaurant online & so glad I did. It was my last night in Siena & really wanted great authentic Italian food without the glitz of the many patio eateries in the piazza de campo. This gem of a place is right off in a side street of piazza de campo. It has a cozy & quiet wine cellar feel to it, which is nice after a whole day of being on my feet wandering around old town Siena. I ordered their pasta special for that day, which is the in-season porcini mushrooms sautéed in garlic & Olive oil, sprinkled with parsley, with freshly made pappardelle. Oh! It was divine! This is the best of Italian cooking to me, fresh local ingredients with simple preparation that is made just right. so comforting & satisfying. Delicious! The owner was warm & engaging, which added to a pleasant evening of dining. I would go back there next time I am in Tuscany and will tell anyone I know to go there as well. What a wonderful way to end my trip here in Siena! Thank you!

After spending many an effort in trying to find a place to eat dinner on a Friday night in Siena I came across this gem. I must admit that it wasn’t my first choice as other places were already booked with with reservations. After going there it would be my first choice the next time I visit. The owner encouraged English with us which we were very grateful for. We had been looking for this type of place from the minute we touched down in Siena. We started with a bottle of chianti which the owner recommended. As we corked the bottle, he brought us a complimentary pomadoro dish to go with the wine. From there we had an array of roasted crostini with various vegetables. It eluded into a ravioli stuffed with ricotta, spinach and hint of nutmeg with a meat and pecorino sauce. The next course was a traditional steak grilled with herbs and toasted pine nuts an sautéed vegetables. At this point we should have either been ordering dessert or throwing in the towel. Quite the contrary we ordered the special of the night pompadel with meatballs. This made for the perfect not so sweet but savory dessert. Great location just off the piaza del campo. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for an intimate local dining experience.

We went here for lunch and were not disappointed. Delicious food for both adults and teenagers, and nice wine by the glass. Nice location very close to Il Campo, underground. When encouraged, the host spoke his mind(in good English) about guide books and their positive and negative effects. I want to go back here.
