We sought out this trattoria based on a Osterie d’Italia(Slow Food Guide) entry — and I have to admit, they never disappoint. The restaurant is in the historic centre of Sassari and also offers some outside seating. This is fresh seafood at it’s finest. We had the mixed seafood starter which was divine — came with mussels, the local version of monkfish, smoked swordfish, marinated anchovies, tender octopus and a little tower of fried shrimp and zucchini. We then shared a plate of spaghetti with fresh sardines and capers — lovely dish. We then had some mullets in tomato sauce and roasted eel — the latter a bit of work for little meat, but very tasty. The presentation is not for the faint of heart — see the photo for reference. For dessert we had a vanilla crème topped with some pastry flakes, nice but not exciting. The fish was always fresh and tasty, and overall was the food prepared flawlessly with good quality products. The service was also very friendly and the wine list looked rather appealing(unfortunately I had to drive). Would definitely go back there.
