Very friendly service. Amaaaaaazing pizza con melanzane(eggplant). I also tried the bufala pizza which was good. The crust here is thicker than you’ll find in most other pizza shops in Rome, I think. I was tempted by all the other prepared foods on display, from chicken with rosemary, to the fried assortment, to the salads, roasted vegetables, etc. I’d love to stop in again… I also opted to try their orange cheesecake and because I asked for such a small piece, the server have it to me on the house :) it was wonderful; creamy, tangy ricotta-based cake with not-too-sweet orange rind sauce.

Good pizza, but I don’t think it lives up to its hype. The margarita was pretty good. Cute place though — lots of charm and character and everything looked good and fresh.

Location: Testaccio The food: We had the pizza Margherita and it was fantastic. The pomodoro sauce, fresh mozza and basil were the perfect blend. Wonderful flavor, with no acidity whatsoever from the pomodoro sauce. These guys do a nice thin crust, so you don’t get all stuffed up after one bite. Service: Great. The place: It sort of reminds me of a small cafeteria, and caters to the lunch crowd — if you get there too late, too bad for you! You won’t find seats and you may not get any pizza either! Price point: Budget-friendly!

This was our first tavola calda/self-service in Roma and the food was delicious. I enjoyed a chicken dish and sauteed green beans and shared a white bean soup with my daughter. Lots of locals came in to hang out or take-away.

Nice casual cafeteria style joint. Try the pizza con patate(recommended by my friend’s friend who studied being a chef in Italy). A lot of locals took pizza to go. I also had the polpi salad(octopus salad)
