Stumbled upon this place after a long day, tired and hungry. What a great place it turned out to be! The dinner buffet for € 10 is a steal with veggies like sauteed spinach, yummy baked potatoes, roasted sweet peppers, eggplant, asparagus, olives, mozzarella, mixed seafood salad, and other choices. Also ordered the grilled shrimp was fresh and tasty. Our waitperson confirmed that the watermelon was in season and it was incredibly flavorful. This is a gem of a place close to the Spanish steps. The Place is casual and comfortable; our server spoke English and was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

Sugo was suggested to us by someone who works at our hotel. We LOVED it. Emiliano and his staff are top notch. The food was creative, fresh, and fantastic. We spent two nights in Rome and ate here both nights. This was probably the best restaurant we visited in our entire 2 ½ week European vacation. Talking with Emiliano it was easy to see why the food was so good. He is passionate about his food and the ingredients he uses. The vibe is comfortable and laid back, but the quality is top notch. This would be a great place for a date. Romantic, but not pretentious. The staff spoke perfect English, which was handy since my husband and I speak little Italian. As a vegetarian, I had a wonderful meal of Orecchiette with broccoli rabe, sundried tomato and smoked mozzarella. Emiliano checked on me three times because I had only taken a few bites and he was concerned I didn’t like it. In reality, I had filled up on the cheese course and the wonderful appetizer! My husband had the amatriciana(a traditional roman pasta) and loved it so much that when we returned to the states he started searching out someone who could make it for him locally. I only hope we get a chance to return. Sugo was WONDERFUL.
