This was a great meal. My friend and I came here and had a great dinner at this cute, family-owned restaurant. We ordered the cacio a pepe and the carbonara — we shared the portions so we could each get a taste of each. We both preferred the carbonara over the cacio a pepe(but that’s not to say that the cacio a pepe wasn’t also amazing!). Service was good and our waiter was charming. The bread they serve when you sit down is a great way to start your meal. Although we didn’t order it, we saw another table order the chocolate cake and it looked to-die-for.

Excellent little Roma style food. We had great service and got to chat with the owner a few times about the meal. Great food and highly recommended.

When visiting Rome, definitely take the time to try out the«Up and Down» Cucina, named because it has three floors. At this family owned restaurant, my wife and I were greeted by the son, who made fantastic meal recommendations. This family obviously takes a lot of pride in their restaurant and it shows. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. And for those who don’t speak Italian, don’t worry, the staff speaks English. If you want great service and great Italian food, this is the place to go!

Loved this place! The service was friendly and attentive. We went with an artichoke lasagne special they had that day, the cacio e pepe, and green beans. We inhaled it all. The owner came by at the end and was so nice and even gave us a calendar to take home with us. The whole experience was wonderful. PS they have 3 levels so if you want a table upstairs with a view you’ll want to call and make a reservation.

Yes yes yes!!! Our B&B host recommended this place and we were a little hesitant, since it was a little bit of a walk, but it was definitely one of the best things we did in Rome The pasta was freshly made that day, and the specials were fantastic!!! The lady and i got the artichoke lasagna, house chianti, and cacio e Pepe… to sum it up in 3-words…mmm…mmmm…mmmmmmmm!!! Definitely come try this place for a great taste of Rome!

We stayed at a B&B around the corner and stumbled upon this gem. Our waiter appeared to be a co-owner of a family business with his father as the chef. He gave us recommendations, let us know which pastas were being made fresh that day and gave us the necessary pointers to make for a great meal. Every table seemed to get the same service, an individualized well handled approach that makes each party feel as if they’re getting«special treatment.» The service was a welcomed change to the oft stuffy, snooty or slow service we have had across the country. The food was impeccable. We had the fried stuffed zucchini as an antipasti, the clam and fresh porschini mushroom pasta for primi and second courses of char grilled squid and lamb. The lamb was tender and bursting with flavor. The squid was also great. Everything we had was wonderful. We wish we were in Rome just a day or two longer so we could go back and experience it all again!
