The chicken trappizino was delicious! And their fruit with chocolate is really good too!

This is where you go after the Vatican if you know what’s up. The vibe was so cool I want to work here. We sat at the bar and the service was fantastic. The food was top notch and the prices were reasonable.

Our first two days in Rome we walked by this restaurant in the evenings and every time it was extremely busy. Like the street full of people with wine glasses and cars double parked kind of busy. So our last night we decided to stop in. We got there at 6:30 so we managed to get a table in the back of the restaurant. They had an English menu for their antipasti and drinks, however their primo/secondo menu is different every night, so it’s only written in Italian. So me, being the Italian languge novice I am, wildly typed everything into Google Translate to see what I could eat(I have a shellfish allergy). I eventually settled on a pesto pasta that was pretty good. My girlfriend had a vegetarian spaghetti that was fantastic. I’m not usually one for vegetarian dishes, but this one was quite tasty. By the time we were done, the crowd had already started to form in the street.

This place was recommended to me by a friend. I really wanted to like this place, but the service made my experience terrible. The place is very unorganized and the guy seating us said it would be a few minutes before a table was ready. He ended up seating three other tables before us even though we were the first to arrive. Once we were seated, we were served our ham and mozzarella platter which was pretty good, but waited over 30 minutes for our pasta which we ordered at the same time. Tables that were seated after us had gotten their food and left while we were waiting for the pasta. No apologies were made and the waitresses didn’t bother making eye contact with us while we were waiting for our food. Worse service ever and the pasta was mediocre after all that. I wanted to walk out earlier, but my husband thought we should stay. I’ve had much better service at all the other restaurants during our time in Italy, so it’s not an Italian thing. I’d recommend that you find a different place to eat and don’t waste your time here.

Found this place after my husband and I left the Vatican. We got a cheese and charcuterie plate that was phenomenal, he had pasta e fagoli and I had a pasta with butternut squash in it. So fresh and delicious. We also had the cannoli for dessert and it was amazing. Highly recommend this place. Love the atmosphere. They have an in house charcuterie area where a guy literally cuts meats by hand.

I detest restaurants where I fill ripped off hence 1 star. 2 Euro for tap water and 2 euro for bread I have not ordered? Will certainly never come back.

Totally amazing carb lunch after hours of Vatican touring. Pastas change daily, but we ordered all 4 on the menu(the only one I forgot to photograph was the Strozzapretti — unfortunate, since it was the table favorite; second place went to the linguini with pumpkin). Pairing it all with a 19 € 2007 Barbera d’Asti got me though another 4 hours of touring the ruins next to the Colosseum. This is the kind of gem in terms of both quality and value that I’m tempted to keep quiet, for fear of ruining the place with popularity. Eating lunch here is the highlight of 3 hours of staring at paintings(spoken as a true Unilocal elite).

I really liked this place. Seems like a trendy spot for drinking and socializing. I went here with my parents. We all had our fill of delicious food and the bill was teeny tiny. I would recomend

If you are looking for somewhere AWESOME near the Vatican — this is it. This was up there with the best meals I had in Rome. They make veggies amazing here. I LOVED my farro pasta with pesto, zucchini, almonds, and zucchini flowers. I am going to try and make this at home. Our waitress was super friendly too. And the place is adorbs.

Got here late. A block from bnb. Got 2 small plates(delicious) and a Cesare — light red wine. Waitress nice and helpful with menu. Will come back for breakfast if same size crowd. Ham and cheese room! And later realised i was short 10 € after paying the check and leaving a tip

Wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for the personal touch. I’d love to review the food but unfortunately I wasn’t able to experience it, since the service was so bad(told to wait when there were empty tables, still no menus after 5mins of sitting down, no drinks after 5mins of ordering them) that we left! Waitress didn’t even acknowledge us when she saw us leaving. Obviously not worried about losing a few customers when they’re evidently doing so well!

This place is awesome! Stumbled upon it for lunch yesterday with my husband trying to find our way to our hotel. They had an impressive menu and we had a hard time deciding.(One of the servers helped us in translating the menu despite the busy-ness of the place) In the end we decided on the eggplant Parmesan and one of their items off their daily menu-spaghetti and salmon. Everything was delicious and so cheap! We came back that evening for post-dinner drinks.

Un très bon resto entre amis ou en amoureux courru par le tout Rome. on y boit bien, le slogan sur les T-shirts des serveurs est clair: «life is too short to drink cheap wine» et l’ambiance est merveilleuse.

This place is a perfect little Italian treat with extremely friendly staff who can speak very good English. I had the pizza meatball sandwich and my wife had the fruit platter, both were sensational. The richness in the pizza sauce is the true taste I was looking for from Italy! Also a very nice nutty coffee. A must for all travellers in the area.

This place was awesome. Found it on Unilocal and went out of our way to eat here. The fresh juices, amazing salads, cafés and especially their signature Trapizzino sandwiches were to die for. We wished we were hungrier so that we could try that too that we did not order. After we finished eating on the patio we then went inside were blown away by the amazing atmosphere and cool vibe inside. I wish we stayed in Rome longer so we could eat here again.

This place is fantastic! My sister guided us to this place after our tour of the Vatican(which I recommend very much). Come here for a nice sit down lunch either outside overlooking the street or inside under a glass roof. The servers are great and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The food was as good as it looked and as a family of 5, we are a LOT. We sat at a sharing table with another party of 3 and had a pleasant meal. Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Rome!

Late night on the first day in Roma, we needed a place to eat. Not many options in the area we were in(aside from bars), but lo and behold this restaurant was bright and filled with people. Worried we couldn’t get a seat, but they have a bar area with snack food, then the restaurant in the back. Got a table for four in 8 minutes… What really brought us here are the Trappizino sandwiches. Gloriously put together — thick slabs of bread, sandwiching copious amounts of chicken, sauce, cheese, and whatever love they mixed in. A perfect compliment with a glass of Italian wine. The caprese we ordered was excellent(see picture). Our friend ordered an eggplant/zucchini dish in lieu of a pasta they ran out of(how does that happen?). No matter because the dish was very very good. To complete the entire meal, got a freshly made cannoli that was creamy but not too sugarry as most places in the states do. Between the four of us(plus drinks) — the total bill was $ 47USD. Not bad. Service took a little while, but it was a packed house, thus not docking any points. If ever back in Rome, this is one place I’ll come back to.

I was at Sorpasso on the night they opened 4 years ago and immediately knew they’d be a huge success! I moved away from Rome two years ago, but was fortunate enough to go back last week. Sorpasso was one of my top 5 spots to hit up while I was in town and I was happy to see they have managed to maintain their authentic style and taste despite their incredible popularity! My favorites have always been la parmigiana and il vino di nessuno(delicious & affordable). Make a reservation if you plan on going during peak hours and want a table or prepare to drink/eat standing outside, resting your plates & glasses on car hoods like all the others. Either way, Sorpasso is a must!

A local’s afterwork spot. sit outside if you can. get a nice glass of Italian wine and some prosciutto and a platter of cheese, and in Heaven you will be. the Price is very decent for the quality produce you’ll get. Pretty fancy people seem to go there(due to the neighbourhood) but there is a very laid back and chill atmosphere. at least when I was there. the staff was very kind and professional. next time i’ll stay for dinner and not just for appetisers. i suggest to go with a group as It could be a bit noisy inside, since every one is enjoying their time, and the tables are close to each-other. Buon appetito

Great, authentic Italian breakfast. Service was a bit slow but the pizza sandwich for breakfast was great and you can’t beat the price. € 3.50.

our first meal in Rome and maybe our favorite. bustling, authentic, Roman but welcoming to us late arriving Americans. we emailed ahead and they kindly made us a reservation, and our table was waiting for us in minutes, even though it was 10:30pm when we arrived and the place was packed with rowdy locals. most memorable to me now was the handmade orchiette with four meats. not even sure what four meats they were, but every bite was rich, perfectly cooked and delicious. I second guessed my choice of a hotel in Prati so many times, but after eating here, I would stay in Prati and make this my regular«first meal» in Rome every time I come back. prego!
