Beautiful location beside the Pantheon but also close to many other better restaurants. We tried them after a long tour of the Vatican and the barker touted their fresh hand made pastas. Food was edible but both of us were relentlessly up-sold for the special after declining it twice. I should have stuck to my guns like my wife did instead of getting talked out of my choice. Again, edible, but the service was weak and topped off with an extra bad attitude. They added a service charge and also charged us for bread we never ate or ordered. We had lots of other meal just walking distance away, where the food and staff is excellent.

Impressively rude & overpriced. My father and I had eaten a small dinner earlier and I wanted a fuller, proper meal and dessert. They were moderately busy this evening but still had empty tables and we were invited to sit immediately. I ordered food but was astonished to see that a ¼ L soda — or water — was € 6. Most entrées were only € 12 – 15. A few minutes after ordering we were told that my father had to order food too or they would not serve me. Just amazing. Oh yeah, and full bottles of water are € 1 next door. The restaurant on the other side if the piazza has the same food but much better pricing and very friendly — and they didnt mind my father at all

So sad… such awful food and service in such a great location. Food was pricey which wouldn’t have been a problem if we had gotten decent service and good food, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. The waiter was not attentive at all! Actually, none of them were. And they also did not get along with one another and made it very obvious by yelling at each other and rolling their eyes in front of the customers. As soon as we finished our food we went next door for our desserts. There was no way we were going to give the establishment any more of our money.

This establishment has way below average food with all the great places that Rome has. The location is great, and I guess we fell for that reason, but not having checked with Unilocal or its equivalent was our mistake. Grand disappointment, and almost ruined, a most beautiful day. First, their food is below average. We ordered a bruscheta with prosciutto and we got one single slice of bread with some parma ham for 7 Euros! You could have a whole prosciutto pizza at the salumeria next door. We also ordered«fio di zucca friti» and I would say, that was the best of that we ate tonight, but it was 12 euros, not bad. My wife got spaghetti bolognese, which was eatable but nothing worth the try. My son got, according to him, «the worst pizza» during our stay in Rome. My daughter was recommended by the waiter«pasta fresca with porcini mushrooms.» I have tasted pastas in many places and this was nothing out of ordinary — but of course the waiter chose to recommend the highest price, non seafood, pasta of the menu. Initially, didn’t think much, as we have gone places where we spend easily over $ 50 per person. If the prices matches the taste and makes your palate go «wow!» I would not mind paying $ 50, as we have at Mario Batali’s restaurant in New York, if the food merited the price. I had a linguini alla vongoles, which wasn’t bad, in fact, it was the better of all. But, I can make better linguini alla vongole myself. Now, when it comes to ripping off unsuspecting customers, they charge their«service» in the bill and top of that want more tips! First, they charge 6 euros for bottle of water, almost double of many establishments. They brought unrequested«foccacia» and charged us 3 euros, and the sorry thing is that, that it wasn’t even good! Now, when they brought the bill, the waiter brought a piece of paper where you supposedly authorize tip in the credit card. I understand that here they cannot charge tips on a credit card, I guess, unless authorized. So, when I look upon closely to our 128 euro bill, I see a «servizio» for 12 euros, and when the waiter returns to get the payment, I ask what that is, and he responds, «is our cover charge.» Never heard of that, and of course, he wanted to see me stupid tourist face. Of course that was their tip for the service, and another passed by saying, «maybe we have to find another job.» I think they should, rude, and despicable attitude. But the bottom line is the food is way below average for the prices — don’t trust that dude above who gave 5 stars. He probably thinks Olive Garden is da bomb. Just kidding… But, please find another joint nearby, and check Unilocal and Trip you know what…

I give it 5 stars just for the lasagna! Came back twice in three days just for the taste. Sit outside looking at Pantheon. Never had better lasagna!

I first went to this restaurant in September, 2007 with my wife and sister-in-law. We wanted to drink wine, chat and have a bite to eat. Our server, who was the same rude character I had the displeasure of encountering on 29 October 2014, came up to us about twenty minutes and a half bottle of wine later and told us to order food or leave. This was the same scenario most recently experienced. Both times less than a third of his tables were occupied(understandably). This time(due to my bad recollection of which location to avoid) we told the waiter who seated us we only wanted a glass of wine and he said that was fine. We had been seated less than seven minutes when the gnome came to our table, pulled the menu from my hand and said if we did not order we could leave. Which we did. This restaurant is the first you will encounter to the left as you leave the Pantheon. Avoid it if at all possible.

We were staying in their hotel and were given a 15% discount. Our first night we ate there and the service was horrible. They said we couldn’t have tap water because it wasn’t drinkable– but the fountain within view gives off an endless supply of potable water. So we agreed to buy the bottle of water. But they never brought it. I was dying of thirst! No one checked on us, we were the only patrons and had to ask twice for our bill! So three days later we decided we would try again. The front row of tables had several couples sitting at tables for 4, but two of them on one side facing the square. So we did the same and were asked to move and sit across from each other! Wtf?! After waiting about five minutes and not receiving any service, we left to get ice cream. Service IS included in your bill and its outrageous– 30% of our first nights’ bill! Don’t go!

I would avoid this location. I was here for dinner with my brother and daughter. The meal was not horrible, but overpriced and pretty average. The major problems were 1) a creepy jerk(even for local standards) hitting on people at the tables around us – one table actually requested a new server to move him away — and 2) the fact that after this dinner, my credit card was used for several fraudulent transactions. I hadn’t used the card otherwise so the implication was clear. Beware.

I have a love hate relationship with this restaurant. It’s located in the plaza right in front of the Pantheon. For some it’s a regular tourist trap while for others it’s a base from where they can admire the beauty of the Pantheon all day long. For me, it was both. My parents and I spent more than an hour here, seated on one of the shaded outdoor tables, looking at the ancient Roman temple while gorging ourselves on risotto and paninis. The tiramisu that we ordered for dessert was exquisite. It was towards the end of our trip and since we were customers, the restaurant kindly allowed me to charge my iPhone there for more than half an hour. I was grateful. But what’s wrong with their prices? It was July and the almost 40 degrees heat was killing us. Although we probably would have paid anything at that point for a cold drink, 5 euros for a small glass bottle of Coke was an extortion.
