Despite the reviews, I thought it was a decent hotel. I used points to stay there. They treated me decently as a Concierge member: got a free room upgrade. No in-room welcome gift surprisingly. I liked the business class room. I thought it was a good change from normal standard rooms. Interesting use of space too. I frequently forget clothes if I hang them up in a hotel room closet, but it’s in the open here – easy for me so I don’t forget my crap. I just wish there were more electrical outlets available or in more convenient places. The only bad parts are that the hotel is located in a sketchy part of town and that it seems the people of Rome are generally unhappy and unfriendly folks. So, the staff are a product of their environment.

This is a three star hotel similar to an older Hampton Inn in the USA or an older Best Western. The price per night does not reflect the quality you receive.

My husband and I stayed there for 8 nights — at first we got a room with 2 twin beds. So I called the front desk and asked to be moved to a room with a king bed. I was told to wait for someone to come. We thought we were moving to another room but we were wrong. Two housekeepers came and combined the 2 beds together. We got the ‘honor’ to see one of the twin sized comforter had a huge bloodstain as the housekeeper changed the bed. It was completely GROSS I wanted to puke! Obviously, room was not as clean as we know what a 5star hotel would be. Their flush in the bedroom was broken we had to always push and hold for water to come out. There were wires behind the bathroom mirror which was just hanging and completely visible. Not a good view for us hotel guests. Not thick enough wall between rooms, as we can always hear our neighbors or when someone passing the corridor. If your room is on 6th floor and you stay on a Friday night, prepare yourself to stay awake late because they have party on 7th floor with very loud music that you can hear all night long from your room. We planned to visit the Vatican at 7:30am on Saturday — it just couldn’t happen because we didn’t get the good sleep. My husband used their bathrobe after shower and 15 minutes later he realized the fuzz from the robe was all over the floor and bed. He had to shower again as many of the fuzz stick to his skin. Our room was cleaned everyday but sometimes they haven’t cleaned the room when we were back at 4:30pm. And 6 times out of the 8 nights of our stay, we didn’t get the complimentary coffee/tea in room refilled. We had to always call 855 for their room service. Their staff was okay. Not helpful but not very rude either. The first time we didn’t get our coffee/tea refilled, we hit the«100% satisfaction guarantee» button on the phone several times and nobody ever picked up. We wonder if there was really that service. Then we called the front desk and nobody picked up. So we went down to the lobby only to be told to call 855 from our room. Unbelievable! It took us 10 minutes to go through all this process to get our coffee/tea refilled from a 5star Hotel! Swimming pool was good on the roof top(7th floor). Crowded but still organizable. I’m sorry Radisson Blu, but you’ve really gone beyond under our expectation and we really wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay there.

Overall: Clean rooms, helpful staff and great food. I loved the rooftop pool(less the absence of an impressive view). The food and bar menu by the pool was very expensive so i never ordered anything while up there; however, i did pay for the breakfast buffet. I would HIGHLY recommend the breakfast to anybody staying. I think it was 23 € per person and at this price, its truly a steal. The buffet had a very very wide selection of top quality meats, cheese, bread and liquor. Every morning i indulged myself in a plate of fresh prosciutto, salami, grilled breakfast sausage with scrambled eggs, 3 – 4 different cheeses, croissants, nutella, and probably the equivalent of a loaf of freshly baked & sliced bread. The occasional apple or pear might be included but i usually traded the fruit for some fruit juice with champagne ;) They had a ton of jars with different jams and cereals with all sorts of nuts, seeds and grains to add on. The hotel is not in the nicest or most glamorous part of Rome, but the hotel itself surely is. The staff is very helpful with giving directions & calling places to make reservations. I would definitely stay here again!
